Rabies vaccination alone about 100QR, full vaccinations including Rabies, Parvo, Distemper etc 300QR for the first shots, after 3-4 weeks 200QR for the booster making about 500QR for the initial shots. After that, next year the booster for ALL is about 300QR.
I have seen many dogs die from Parvo in the 3 years I have been here, I really would advise you do the whole lot. Doha Vets and Qatar Veterinary Center both do these for about the same price, call them and ask for the price list. If you are planning to travel to EU countries you must have the Rabies blood serology done before you leave, this is a blood test to check for antibodies, the cost of this is about 1000QR and should only need to be done once in the animals life as long as you keep up the boosters.
These prices may have changed a little, I have not been working at the clinic for a couple of months.
Qatar Veterinary Centre (4216405 - www.qatarvet.com) and The Veterinary Surgery (4367187 - www.dohavets.com) both offer vaccinations. You don't mention how old your puppy is but there are 3 vaccines he/she will need.
First of all there is the DLPPH vaccine which can be given from 8 weeks old and offers protection against Distemper, Leptospira, Parvovirus, Parainflueza and Hepatitis.
This then needs to be repeated at 12 weeks as a booster vaccination.
At 12 weeks the puppy can also have the rabies vaccination.
Your puppy would then be covered for one year, and the DLPPH and Rabies would need to be repeated annually.
Each vaccine is QR150-QR180 depending on where you go so you're looking at a minimum of QR450 for the 3 vaccines.
Worming tablets start at QR30 each and the number needed depends on the weight of the puppy.
The price may be different for puppies, but for my full grown dog the rabies- parvo - canine distemper - parainfluenza - leptospira Canicola-Grippodyphosa-Icterohaemorhagia-Pomona Bacterin - shots (there are only 3 despite all these names, most are combined into one shot except for the Rabies which is administered separately) And it cost QR300 including a brief annual checkup (temperature, eye and teeth check, palpitating the abdomen and answering a few questions about food/exercise/bathroom "results")
Before you think that these shots are "overkill" think again. Parvo especially is a a dreadful disease that puppies are very prone to and it's a horrible almost 100% death sentence. QR300 is well worth it annually to have a healthy and happy companion who is safe from all those ugly germs.
Puppies may need worming too, so you might have to part with a few more riyals (less than 50) to clean up the insides.
