Yes, I second Aqua art, especially if you are a beginner. Aquariums are cheaper at the souq thogh. But for choosing fish Aqua Art is great, very professional, will give you advice on what fish can live together, what conditions they need, etc.
If aquarium is too small, it is more difficult to keep it clean. We first bought a small aquarium at the souq (about 20 liter) and 6 fishes, 2 of them were gold fish. The sellers at the souq have no idea what is required for these fish. We soon realized that the aquarium is too small for our fish, and especially for goldfish, as each goldfish required much more water than 20 l. Our next step was get a bigger aquarium (we now have about 55 - 60 liters) and get rid of gold fish as they are champions to make water dirty super fast. Now we have 2 angel fish (they are our favourite), 4 tetra fish, and one plectosomus (succer fish) that eats algae from the glass. The aquarium is now nice to look at, easy to keep clean and we finally enjoy it! We do partial water change about 25 % once every two weeks, using a pump that cleans the bottom, it takes just 5 min.

I suggest you take a visit to the shop Aqua Art on Salwa Road (near Snow White). Find the fishes that interest you and ask your doubts to the staff there. The staff are very helpful.
