EU Pets Passport Scheme (PETS)

Can anyone provide conclusive information of when and if Qatar will be joining the Pets Passport Scheme?
Bahrain and the UAE have been members for some time now and there has been talk since 2007 of Qatar joining, but still nothing!
Does anyone have an idea if there is a possibility in the near future?

I'm sure one of the ladies who have been lobbying for it will be able to give you more info, but I don't think it's going to happen imminently. We're moving to France for 6 months with our dog, so we can then take her straight into the UK.
