Pet shops?

Hi,

I was at Souq Waqif today and was disgusted by the way the animals are treated there. I was going to buy a lovely little persian cat but was put off after they told me she hadn't been vaccinated and she looked like she had an eye infection, poor thing :(

Anyways, are there any proper pet shops in Doha, other than the ones in Souq Waqif?

No, there are no "proper" pet shops and no "proper" breeders in the GCC to my knowledge. If you decide that a pedigree animal is what you want, you have to source a "real" breeder who loves and cares for their animal elsewhere.

There are so many cats and kittens who want and deserve a good home here but they aren't "pedigreed" animals - give them a chance - go to QAWS, Cats in Qatar or the local vet practice - they can give you good advice, help you choose a healthy animal that has been cared for properly and a friend for life.
