there is no pure bred dog! All dogs, like all humans, can interbreed! So people in one area tend to look similar to each other, because they have always had a limited choice of marriageable mates until the bicycle was invented! Same with dogs!
People have always bred dogs for specific purposes, usually to the benefit of humans, but essentially a dog is a dog! It is the oldest covenant (see Konrad Lorentz) and it saddens me that people are somehow valuing animals for their supposed pure bred status. Forget it! It doesn't matter! Value your dog for his/her loyalty, unquestioning support for you, and it's ability to tell you, without words, that you are fundamentally ok!
