as someone who has availed themselves of the NHS and a major private hospital here (Al Alhi) for OBGYN and giving birth, I can tell you the NHS came up trumps in terms of care, number of doctors I saw and specialists as well as the midwives and the expensive private hospital here - it was pitifully painful how poor it was
Have to agree with you there - but the NHS is failing which is sad; hence why I am shocked it was that high.
No, no Brit - we only have three women in the country.
Plus no postal service so not really worth the stamp.
Newzealand is No 3 for Women ?
I'll send you guys a postcard :O)
Cabbage, you don't appreciate how good the NHS systems is until you go elsewhere. Visit the US and fall sick without insurance and see how well you are treated!
if u repeat 100 times a wrong thing ,it become truth and comes as survey.all Dev. country are facing Parents separtion problem,,baby w/out marriage no one to care/
u can say worse ......................worse...................worse. but Lipestic (survey)hide ur dry lips.
only they produce survey ,,
I am shocked the UK has ranked as high as it has. There is a severe shortage of Midwives and Health Visitors:-/
Things must be bad elsewhere.
And No. 3 for women!
New Zealand was No. 6 I'll have you know....
then credit goes to her mother, as best mommy :)
in developed countries listed above, women marries no. of times not for sake of kids, but coz of unloyal relationship among the couples!!
What good is the 'Best Mommy ' certificate when there are no kids to enjoy the benifits?
I said:" She can choose from."
have u experiencee four fathers being in qatar, rating ur mummy the best!!
Qatar is the best country to be a mother. There are at least 4 fathers she can choose from!
No Frenchie, not good. Not good at all.
But for a country of 645 million living in poverty, I would have expected the results to have been worse.
Refined soul. Read the WHOLE rankings. The US is in Tier 1 (about 40 countries); China is in Tier 2. The rankings start over for each of the tiers. In absolute terms it would make China somewhere around 58th.
Fubar in absolute terms, India would come in at about 115th. Not so good out of 160 odd countries.
I'm surprised India did so well, considering just much poverty their is in their country.
if china is listed at no. 18 means US comes next to china at no. 28 in developed countries, why kind of survey is it, but would not say crap like funny indians did!!
Frenchie, Thanks yet again!

Thanks for the clarification Frenchiman, but some how it just missed on the list printed above!
Polkadots--not sure what you mean? China is listed at number 18 in Tier 2.
China is stuggling to contain it's new borns and does not even feature in the list,.....no recognition for it's efforts, Not Good,... Not Bad .....Neither Ugly????Even if the world does not recognise it's worth in being a mother, the sheer qunatity and quality of it's kids epxlains it all!
well said frenchie...
TThe survey would have taken into consideration things like free medical care , welfare checks, rewards for having more kids (like in some "so called developed" countries) etc..
Paki's and Hindi's do have the best mothers..
Strait Arrow--the study analyzes the best places to BE a mother, not the places WITH the best mothers.
it would be labelled as crap by paki's n hindi's coz their countries are in less developed class & at below end! would be difficult for them to digest it.
If a bad mother lives Norway or Qatar or where ever there will be no difference.
If a good mother lives Norway or Qatar or where ever there will be no difference.
Here is a very beautiful link

Interesting read...
Nepal is praised for having more health workers available during prgnancy, but is low in the index table.
Looks like it comes down to the wealth of the nation and cultural aspects.
Crap!!! maternity leave is also one of the fatcor lol.
why does the so called "developed countries" rush to India for repairing their heart and other organs nowadays? ;)
now can you post abt Best countries to be a father
Save the Children funded it as part of a wider study. It's not an opinion survey, but a study based on mortality rates, incomes, access to medical care etc. Follow the links, especially the second for full details of the massive study.
We are on 73rd position and tat also on Tie 2(less developed countries )....:(
who did this Ranking ?
