Church in Norway is in shock..!
A German-born former Catholic bishop in Norway, Georg Muller, has admitted sexually abusing a minor 20 years ago, the Norwegian Catholic Church said Wednesday.
"The Catholic Church in Norway is in shock after it was revealed that former bishop Muller of Trondheim (in southern Norway) admitted being guilty of sexual abuse of a minor and said that was why he left his post last year," the Church said in a statement.
Georg Muller, 58, who was born near Trier in Germany, stepped down as bishop of Trondheim last year, officially because he was unsuited for the work.
According to the daily Adresseavisen, which broke the story, the affair goes back more than 20 years to when Muller was a priest in Trondheim. The victim was a choir boy, who is now around 30 years old, and has been paid damages by the Church.
In fact I heard from people, I watched in TV and I read in newspapers many cases simillar to this one in different countries.
Now he is admitting after 20 years..!! how many boys he abused during last 20 years? of course he doesn't need more. Can anyone tell what does it mean? how many is not admitting? how many will admit after? has it become a normal practice in churches ? is church a safe place to go? take care your children.

Alumnar I'm not dending to myself. this is to whom it may concern. I see you concern but your skin seems thick to follow GAY instructions..lol
i wish, this could never happen again to anyone.
... leave him to it. He is posting only to himself anyway. Don't feed trolls :)
My point is: if the initiator is GAY, why Church Sex Abuse surprising?
It should be predicted and considered as consequences
and your point is?

I have been told that saint Paulo went to Greece - where the homosexuality started - after he translated the holy book and instructed that marriage is forbidden for priests. Many Christians believe he was gay because his instructions were completely against women.
The Archdiocese of Indianapolis has reached its first financial settlement in a priest sexual abuse lawsuit, agreeing to pay $199,000 to a now 48-year-old man who alleged that a former priest molested him as a child.
Under the settlement, the archdiocese also agreed to issue a public apology for the alleged abuse by Harry Monroe, who faces 12 other lawsuits by other alleged victims.

Eve is ashamed and still.
I find this scandal is of great number of people interest and I'm just updating latest news on Catholic Church Child sex Abuse from BBC & CNN which supposed to be trusted sources.
most feedback I got, people want to punish and even rape the abusers. many called for the pope to resign and others want to have the pope arrested. obviously no one respects both church and POPE anymore.
funniest one was the UK foreign office proposal
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/04/25/britain.pope.condom.apology/index.html?hpt=T2
and do u know, why EB thread is not getting attention?
bcoz its not about an abuse or a rape from a third world, its from the so called civilized society.
May peace be with All !
like bashing any thing, any community, any religion, any region or any nation is new on QL?
Its happening here on QL, and no wonder if Child abuse is like a Hot Cake in recent months.
Nice stirring job, EB. whats next?
... you are seriously obsessed and I am very happy to see that nobody is paying you any attention at all. Abuse exists everywhere - whether made public or not. You won't change my belief - I am catholic, but that does not mean I agree with what is happening. My faith is in God and not the man on Earth who replaces him in a Church (priest). I do not believe in confession to a person who is a sinner like I am. So you can see you are like water trying to break a stone. This evil will happen everywhere and wherever you go - and believe me, not only with catholic priests! It happens right there in your neighbours' house, the school close to you... and what are you gonna do about it? Shout it out on a public forum is as far as you can get - because people like you are not here to change anything, just to upset and cause more religion-bashing topics.
May peace be with you!
gents..I know this topic could be like nightmare

Justice and punishment is not about retribution
I agree with roberto, there must be a deterrent punishment to those who tempted to abuse of innocent children and incautious women under the cloak of religion.
how long u want them to be in safe apartment?
It's not about compensation it's about justice
putting in prison will compensate the victims?
POPE has been threatened to be arrested when he visits the UK. Protestors and demonstrators called for Pope to resign over allegations he "protected" child abusers.
He acts like idiot or powerless. I Think he is involved.
although I'm very angry, frustrated and provoked
but I couldn't stop my smile on that proposals.
It's so sad that it's funny
Since the start of child abuse scandal sweeping the Catholic Church, this is the most funny ever.
Writer from UK foreign office proposed the following for POPE action:
1. to launch a child-abuse hotline
2. to announce he's "sacking dodgy bishops."
3. to launch Benedict-brand condoms
4. to bless gay marriage.
5. to ordain a female priest
6. to launch an abortion clinic
http://edition.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/europe/04/25/britain.pope.condom.apology/index.html?hpt=T2
It seems no one respects both church and POPE anymore.
I don't agree with hanging but this people should be put on trial as well as the Pope for their crimes and if convicted sent to prison for a long time.
In accepting the resignation, the Vatican cited a section of canon law that allows clergy to resign because of illness or some other grave reason or if they have "become unsuited for the fulfillment of his office."

Evildoer Bishop declined interviews request and he wants to be left in peace.
what peace? he should be hanged. he must be a lesson for all those who sexually abuse children.
Yes ajinasma1, Church sex abuse for both women and children is very common all over the world.
some poeple seem to be blinds, deafs and mutes
Do you still believe in churches?
A number of incidents reported in India recent times that the Fathers in church are doing sexual abuse to women & children.Unfortunately most of them are hide out by the religion itself and is repeating.
what else you wait from that paedophile

Pasting and copying?
roberto oh so brave - didn't know the Pope was an employer (HIS COMPANY?)
When sexual scandals involving Catholic priests in the US came to light in 2002, the Philippines media began reporting on abuses by local priests. In July of that year, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines apologized for sexual misconduct committed by its priests over the last two decades and committed to drafting guidelines on how to deal with allegations of such offenses. According to Archbishop Orlando Quevedo, president of the Catholic Bishops Conference, about 200 of the country's 7,000 priests may have committed "sexual misconduct" – including child abuse, homosexuality and affairs – over the past two decades.

A Priest was going on holiday and a young trainee priest was taking over his duties.
Okay, any questions said the Priest to the trainee.
Well Father, said the trainee, I'm a bit worried about how many Hail Marys I should give to people during the confession.
So the Father gave the trainee a list with all the sins and relevant Hail Marys on it.
During the first confession a man came in and said 'Forgive me Father for I have sinned'.
What have you done the trainee asked.
I've had oral sex said the man.
The trainee looked down the Father's list, but there was no mention of oral sex.
Then the trainee spotted a choir boy walking past and said 'pstt, what does the Father give for oral sex'
The choir boy replied 'a packet of crisps and a can of coke'.
Inquisitions are over.
Those Priests are considered as very religious.

Pope Benedict XVI wept during meetings with Maltese victims of the paedophile priest scandals rocking the Roman Catholic Church and expressed his own "shame and sorrow."
"He listened to us individually, and prayed and cried with us," said Lawrence Grech, one of eight abuse victims who met the pope for 25 minutes in the Vatican's embassy in Malta.

sorry for that but you have insisted:
First, everyone understands what happens inside the church since ages and keeps silent. at least now it is obvious that Priests are practicing sodomy in church.
Second, your child is one of those victims, do you think his tears is enough? would you only feel ashamed? I doubt it..
we have to think wider. we have to consider a more comprehensive manner..we have to see the real picture.
The concept itself (monks & nuns) is wrong and against human nature. the principle of monasticism is not matching with human desires. so unless that concept disappears, he may stay crying so long.
Its really very sad when the Catholic Church merely pays off the victims of these crimes and no one goes to jail, so its ok to abuse if you are a Priest but everyone else goes to Jail, same laws should apply to all. I too am ashamed and embarrassed, its like they are condoning the behavior by a slap on the hand. Wheres law enforcement? Priests are held to a higher standard of trust than others thus they have committed a crime bigger than others.
is EL dumb too?
for GK
EL BUENO what is your interest in posting this here?
Pope Benedict XVI came face to face yesterday with a scandal that haunts the American Catholic Church by holding an unannounced meeting with several victims of sexual abuse by priests. The cardinal who organized and attended the meeting, gave the pope a list of about 1,000 boys and girls who had been abused in the Boston Archdiocese in the past several decades. The Pope requested the meeting, praying and speaking personally with each person in attendance. The cardinal said afterward, “it was a moving experience. It was very positive and very prayerful.” ....mmmmm I don't think so
And yet there will be many who will try to hide such criminals because it brings bad name to their religion, not just among christains but every religion.
A quiet resignation 20 years after the crime has been committed, is that it? That's all the punishment he gets? That is just not enough. It is time for the Vatican to take radical actions and severely sanction clerical staff who committs any kind of crime to prevent this from happening again. The catholic Church will lose all its credibility if things don't change very soon. I am a catholic and feel ashamed to see what is happening,, but specially that the perpetrators are not punished legally for their sick acts!
