Without skilled foreign workers the Gulf states will quickly die. Don't let yourself or others be treated like sh**, just go home now.
Not that I want to be cynic, but sometimes having to get your work through proper legal matters, and not just jump into the popular bandwagon because a place is booming, but it also help to 'compensate' the worker abit properly, including his accomodation, return tickets, food, etc (although sometimes it's rather small but at least it's sufficient)...

I really do get annoyed when expats say that we are living in the Gulf so we should except their rules and let the locals deal with these issues - can the same be said in Rwanda and Bosnia where the west was criticized for not interfering at the time?....Sadly it's a no win situation in the Gulf.
