Life of Iranian President Ahmedi Nijad - I adore his simplicity

"The Life of Iranian President Ahmedi Nijad" & his Monthly Expenses....

The Fox News TV (USA) asked the Iranian President Ahmedi Nijad;

'When you look into the mirror in the morning what do you say to yourself'?
He answered: I see the person in the mirror and tell him 'Remember, you are no more than a small servant, ahead of you today is the heavy responsibility, and that is to serve the Iranian nation'.

Ahmedi Nijad, the Iranian President who astonished many when he first reached to the office of the Presidency by donating all the high valued Iranian carpets to one of the mosques in Teheran by replacing them with thelow cost ordinary carpets.

He observed that there was a huge extravagant lounge for receiving and welcoming the VIPs and he ordered it to be closed& and asked the protocol office to arrange for an ordinary room only with the wooden chairs.

On many instances he joins the cleaning staff of the municipality for cleaning the streets in the area where his home and the Presidency are located.
Under his authority whenever he appoints any minister to his post he gets a signed document from him with many points, particularly highlighting that he shall remain poor and that his personal and his relatives accounts will be watched and the day heleaves the ministry shall be with dignity, and therefore it is not lawful for him or his relatives to take any advantage of his office.

First of all he declared himself for all the 'Big' wealth and the property he owned was a Peugeot 504 car, model 1977, an old small house inherited from his father 40-years ago in one of the poorest zones in Tehran . His accounts with a zero balance and the only money comes in to his a/c was from his salary from the university as a lecturer with an amount of US$ 250 only. For your information the President still lives in that same house. This is all what he owns; the president of one of the world's important countries; strategically, economically, politically and with regard to its oil and defence. He even doesn't take his personal salary with the argument that all the wealth belongs to the nation and he is the safeguard over it.

One of the things that impressed the staff at the presidency is the bag the President brings with him every day, which contains his breakfast; some sandwiches or bread with olive oil and cheese prepared by his wife and eats and enjoys it with all happiness. One of the other things he changed was his personal carrier 'the President's Aircraft' to a cargo aircraft in order to save the spending from the public treasury and he ordered that he will be flying with the ordinary airline in the economy class.

He organizes meetings every now and then with all the ministers to know their activities and efficiency and he closed down the office of the Manager of the president and any minister can enter to his office without any permission. He also stopped the welcome ceremonies like the red carpet, the photo session or any personal advertisement or respect of any kind while visiting any place in the country.

Whenever he has to stay in any of the hotels he asks them to make sure not to give him a room with any big bed because he doesn't like to sleep on beds but rather likes to sleep on the floor on a simple mattress with a blanket.

Refer to some of the photographs which also confirm the above. The Iranian president is sleeping in the guest room of his house after getting away from his special guards who follow him wherever he goes and photo is taken by his small brother according to the Wifaq Newspaper which published this photo and the next day the photo was published in most of the world's newspapers and magazines and particularly the Americans.

During the prayer you can see that he is not sitting in the first row.And the final photo is of his dining room where the president is busy eating his simple meal. Now, I wonder how much does the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his Cabinet costs Malaysia ? A good Muslim leader leads by example.

Eco-savvy your comparison of Aurangzeb with Ahmedi Nijad was not sarcastic? Well I don’t know what is happening inside Iran under Ahmedi Nijad.

But I have studied a lot about Aurangzeb. You said about him  "Aurangzeb was the greatest king among the Mughals and he was just ruler, he forbade the practice of emperor being weighed in gold and silver, did not take salary he was just ruler, he forbade the practice of emperor being weighed in gold and silver, did not take salary from treasury but earned his own living”

Where did you get your facts about Aurangzeb? Politically correct school text books?

He was one of the cruel and monstrous rulers of Mughal Empire and executed all his brothers, blinded and imprisoned his own father Shah Zahan (who built the famous Taj Mahal), razed many temples and implemented a policy of forced conversions.

Here is a research article about Aurangzeb by Francois Gautier, a French journalist. http://www.rediff.com/news/2007/feb/16francois.htm

Here is another view on how Aurangzeb dislikes his own daughter’s art and poetry.http://razarumi.wordpress.com/about/mughal-princess-zebunnissa/

Your thread is not redundant at all. I believe Nijad's personality, behavior and life style needs examined and discussed over and again, then relate the findings to his country's status and how he is ruling his people.

Many focus on President of the US or UK’s PM, it’s time to broaden our vision.  Next thread discuss Hosni Mubarak please, have not elected him though, yet he’s been my president since I was a little girl..)) Good topic indeed.

Ahmedi Nijad, the Iranian President who astonished many when he first reached to the office of the Presidency by donating all the high valued Iranian carpets to one of the mosques in Teheran by replacing them with thelow cost ordinary carpets.

If the carpets belong to him, then did he purchase them in the first place. If they belong to the president office then he has no right to donate them. And who came up with the idea and giving the image that mosques should be furnished with expensive carpets? this is against Islam

He observed that there was a huge extravagant lounge for receiving and welcoming the VIPs and he ordered it to be closed& and asked the protocol office to arrange for an ordinary room only with the wooden chairs.

He knew ahead of time that his crazy speeches will result in nobody will be visiting him

On many instances he joins the cleaning staff of the municipality for cleaning the streets in the area where his home and the Presidency are located.

He has nothing more important to do

One of the things that impressed the staff at the presidency is the bag the President brings with him every day, which contains his breakfast; some sandwiches or bread with olive oil and cheese prepared by his wife and eats and enjoys it with all happiness.

He does not trust anybody and fear being poisoned

One of the other things he changed was his personal carrier 'the President's Aircraft' to a cargo aircraft in order to save the spending from the public treasury and he ordered that he will be flying with the ordinary airline in the economy class.

He needs all the money to finance terrorism

He organizes meetings every now and then with all the ministers to know their activities and efficiency and he closed down the office of the Manager of the president and any minister can enter to his office without any permission. He also stopped the welcome ceremonies like the red carpet, the photo session or any personal advertisement or respect of any kind while visiting any place in the country.

So Where did the attached photoes come from?

Whenever he has to stay in any of the hotels he asks them to make sure not to give him a room with any big bed because he doesn't like to sleep on beds but rather likes to sleep on the floor on a simple mattress with a blanket.

For security reasons. And he could have back ache

Innocent propaganda

During the prayer you can see that he is not sitting in the first row.And the final photo is of his dining room where the president is busy eating his simple meal. Now, I wonder how much does the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his Cabinet costs Malaysia ? A good Muslim leader leads by example.

Another security measure

Now he can save his country a fortune by not promoting hatred and fighting peace.

What is the point of having nuclear reactors and many parts of Iran does not have drinking water.

Wake up guys.

MashAllah that is really beautiful Eco Savvy. All the well known sunni scholars also had their own trade! And as you mentioned earlier all the Sahaba as well.

It really is inspiring to get rid of the pleasure of this world for the next. And so beneficial for the people. Imagine if every person did this how much the world would be a better place.

I.E. if you earn money then spread it amongst your family members (living simply) and then amongst your neighbors and fellows muslims. MashAllah their would not be a homeless person left in the world if we all did this. And eventually one would not have to live simply any longer. Sadly so many people take advantage of others these days! And so many people with wealth are always yearning for the comforts of life that they forget where to find true happiness.

Aurangzeb was the greatest king among the Mughals and ruled over the

largest territory of any ruler in Indian history.

he was just ruler, he forbade the practice of emperor being weighed in gold and silver, did not take salary from treasury but earned his own living by selling caps he sewed

and selling copies of the Quran he copied by hand.

I salute Ahmadenejad for his humbleness.

Hitler was not a simple person... the difference between Hitler and him is

hitler was a dictator, hitler believed in force, killing and torturing. Ahmdenejad

is completely opposite.

MashAllah .. that is such a good example of a person who fears Allah. And although he has the power to enjoy wealth and luxury while others suffer .. he realizes the responsibility of his position and the great burden upon him

May Allah keep him strong and guide him to the right path inshAllah ameen. And keep him upon that path if he is already there.

MashAllah la quwaata illah billah.

I wonder if this is true??

I think there is no harm in living a luxurious life if one can provide his people with decent livelihood.  It's not bad to live simple, but its not the only question, the real matter is what can you do for the betterment of your nation; economically, socially, their reputation etc.

If a bank manager gets a big salary and lives a sophisticated lifestyle, and can make the bank a successful one, he has done the job well, but if he couldn't manage the bank appropriately and lived a simple life still it's a failure.

I wish he lives his style and succeeds in other fields too, which I think is unlikely in his case.

Existence is a heavy burden, only high spirited ones can bear it.
