A matter of censorship or state security..

Is this press control or neccessary for state security and justice ?

Bahrain’s public prosecutor has banned the media from reporting on a prominent Shiite activist and scores of other opposition members detained in an ongoing crackdown before parliamentary elections in October.

The crackdown follows a series of violent Shiite-led protests accusing the government of discrimination. A statement from the prosecutor says all print, radio, TV, Internet and other media outlets may not “publish or broadcast anything related to” the detained activist Abduljalil al-Singace and others held since mid-August.

The announcement was published in all Bahraini papers. It says the investigations “require secrecy in order to uncover the truth and preserve public order” and warns that offenders could face a year in prison.

are meddling in your government, then you certainly can blame them for destabilizing your country. Look at Afghanistan. How many times have I said they should be left o destroy their own country as they see fit. It isn't America's place to come in and destabilize that wonderful Taliban regime that they all deserve. ;)

ex.ex.expat..... that would mean, the world is also destabilized cos of the greater influence of a few countries...or let me say, one country?

influence than it already has in the gulf. It may be censorship but it's also a matter of security and survival I think.

Press freedom is not something that the government decide, but it is citizens who demand the truth and reporters who want to report the truth.

Don't you think that by taking this action, the state is playing into their hands... His followers will probably use this as a reason for confirmig their beliefs that the government is against them....

Dear kjaksld....

It is not mandatory that, you have to post something on each and every topic. So please stop this.

Definitely, state security. Shiite are more than 70% of the Bahraini population. Many have no devotion to the royal family and they are loyal to IRAN . While others calls for national unity & reforms

It's important to state, that shiite are Bahrain's conservatives. their leaders are not condemning the violence escalating in the streets of rural Bahrain in recent years

Yes, for some cases media should be censored if it affects the nation's image. All the nations do this in one way or the other.
