Pirates demand $35 million random for ship.

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Somali pirates demanded a $35 million ransom on Saturday for a Ukrainian ship they had seized which was carrying 33 tanks and other military supplies to Kenya, a maritime official said.

"The gunmen are demanding $35 million to release the MV Faina and her crew," said Andrew Mwangura of the Mombasa based East African Seafarers' Assistance Programme.

I am getting an info now that 3 war ships have surrounded the ship , 1 from US and 2 Europeans.

they said they will make sure the pirates do not unload the materials on board.

also another news that pirates have lowered their demand to 5$m
