Qatar Ranked Most Networked Arab Country
In the recently released “The Global Information and Technology Report 2013 (GITR)” by the World Economic Forum, Qatar rose five places to rank as the 23rd most networked nation in the world out of 144 countries.
The report examines the networked readiness of countries across four primary indexes: environment, readiness, usage and impact.
Qatar ranked highly in terms of environment (14) and usage (16), with particular areas of high of performance including local skills, business innovation, political and regulatory frameworks, government usage and the social impact of technology.
Such rankings work well to boost the organizational efforts towards future improvements.
However, all such fantastic rankings have no strategic relevance without understanding the underlying implications, or steps required to boost the level of commitment to continue the momentum.
To better understand the significance of the ranking, read the article on ICTQatar's website here: http://www.ictqatar.qa/en/news-events/news/qatar-ranked-most-networked-a...

There are about two hundred countries in the world , so why on rank 144.
Anyway, credit where it is due. Qatar and Sheikha Moza have been pushing for utilising technology and communications.
