Hey qwertyasdfg,

Dont feel bad.Hamad hospital has decided to remove the transporatation allowance and reduce 5% basic salary of all expatriate staff, becoz its decided to give the Qatari staff 15%-35% salary hike from April 2011 onwards. The Qataris deserve it as its their country. As for expatriates, you are considered humans (at least) and thus you are paid something.Be happy with that and work very hard otherwise we will catch you in your next annual performance evaluation and cut the rest of your salary................

It was posted in a popular arabic newspaper... im working for hamad for about few months already, what i want to vent out is I SIGNED A CONTRACT THAT CLEARLY STATES IAM ENTITLED TO HAVE A TRANSPORT ALLOWANCE... isnt that a bridge of contract if they do that? i can still rem. expats celebrating in corniche about 2022 and what now? will they still celebratei dare them to do it? im very disappointed this is a serious issue and i cant take this lightly... this is not the proper way to make money and to gain prestige... Given we are working in the government and in my job every duty i get to save or help someone but with this things i hope they dont expect us to be happy while working or be enthusiastic in working for them...

oh i forgot doctors are the ONLY employees in HMC who enjoy fat paychecks! i really hope they are THAT COMPETENT!!!!!

But this doesn't change the fact that they are severly understaffed. As far as I know, they don't even have enough staff to operate Wakra hospital which should be inaugurated in the few upcoming months.

There must be something lacking in their recruitment campaigns or their offers.

Both Resident & specialist doctors salary scale is competitive , regardless of their nationality. Perks includes school allowance & attending international conferences

SNM - many doctors have jined from UAE and Kuwait recently - because the salary and benefits provided is much better than what they get in govt hospitals there.

1. HMC doesn't follow the Government unified HR Law، they have their own salary grades

2. Doctors at HMC are multinationals and not limited to Egyptians only

3. You're a troll & bashing Egyptians while they are undergoing a crucial day of protesting

4. As per QL new regulations, you must be banned.

I had a very bad experience in Hamad hospital today. The staff treating me was so disinterested and lost in thoughts that i got afraid that i would need to stop my treatment to be on safe side. Then i talked with him and calmed him and realised that all were talking about the transbortation allowance cut! The pour Iraqi guy told me that, hamad hosp is the place where the least salary is paid in govt sector except to the poorly qualified doctors(mostly from egypt- becoz certificates are cheap! - no wonder the health dept. set up trainign for egyptian doctors and medical brofessionals)and nurses. There is alot of depts where less salary is paid and over that this news of allowance cuts.I request the administration not to blay with the health of the beople, because just imagine a bunch of bitter, hurt, humiliated and grumbling beople treating you.Everything in qatar is getting expensve, the betrol price going up and over that salary cuts.Pls i dont want the Philipino, Indyans, Egyptians who are dreating me to give me the wrong treatment just because things are not good around them.

As per Alsharq newspaper , that the unified HR law applied on all government offices has only transportation allowance for Qataris. Apparently the morons who works for this newspaper knows nothing about human resources in the government sector. The fact is all expatriates working in the government sector are on a package contracts. The contract specifies the exact salary as per each employee package transportation is included. In some sectors , employees receive an additional transportation allowance depending on the job nature.

In the same Arabic newspaper I read that all commuters are going to be issued with caravans and transportation allowance is going to be added to housing allowance - which is great except commuters will be required to live in their caravans during the week - only returning to their families at the weekend. I wonder if this too is related to the World Cup??

If the price of smokes is increased, its good, could be to promote the healthy life style but removing transportation allowance will achieve what?

Could it be healthy life style also. We have to walk or cycle to work every day now.

I don't think 25 million is enough for even one stadium let alone 2 but interesting way to make money.

perhaps the transport will be provided by the employer if they will delete the the transport allowance from the contract... just like in saudi arabia the employer provides a company vehicle/van to bring the employees to office and send them back home after work... for me it's ok as long as the company will not reduce my salary.. i don't mind riding a camel under such circumstances...

Another breaking news is previsoly the unit and the trailer ( heavy transportation vehicle) had 2 different number plates a year b4 the changed the law making on single no plate for both the unit and the trailer right after winning the bid they changed the law ( reverting back to the previous law) the traffic deep charges 100 per no plate so if you calculate 100000 trucks x100 which is 10 mill = cost of building one stadium

Soon when this new law was imposed the traffic patrolling dep was instructed to charge 3000 fine on all the trucks with single no plate . Come on !!!!! U change the law overnight and the next morning u send the patrol unit for charging fines on those trucks. the number plates doesnt change overnight like ur laws. !!!!!!!!

6k land cruisers have been specially assigned this job and they are patroling all over Doha

So if u catch 50000 truck b4 they get their no plate changed( it takes 2 days to get the no plate changed, and u cannot expect transporters to stop their vehicle if the law changed overnight) x 3000 qr = 15 mill which is cost of one more stadium with parking

So outta 9 stadium 2 stadium have already come free just by changing the law

Plus the petrol price have increased which directly affect the price of other commodities

10 more years to go for the wc. And a lot will happen so we should wait and watch

Transportation allowance is gone. Later housing allowance will be gone too. What next is left on your imagination.

Please guys/gals I dont understand the logic behind removing the so called transportation allowance. I am damn sure all of us have to commute to work every day regardless of the type of work/nationality/gender.

Someone please enlighten me on this...

I haven't heard anything about the transport allowance and that would surprise me. They would have to increase salaries to compensate and stay competitive with the rest of the GCC.
