3D TV suggestion
By silenceisgood •
Hi guyz,
I request for your expert opinion. I am planning to buy 60 inch 3D TV.
I googled for answers but my main objective is ...
This TV will be connected to a usual laptop and 3D videos files played thru laptop (VLC) or USB directly into TV (No Blue ray or any other mdeia player).
- Should i go for Active or Passive
- Will my normal 2D movie viewing will be affected?
- Samsung, LG or Sony
Considering video played thru Laptop, what decision should i make?
Please suggest.
Finally bought Samsung 60", happy with it. If anyone wants to know any info, would happy to help.
Thanks Daiwai, am still confused, but your post certainly helped.
P.S. Normal 2D is not affected and my telly does a 2D to 3D real-time conversion whcih can add a bit more to some films....
Go for as many Hz as you can get. The 3D files I have d/l have never worked. There must be some code missing because the discs always work. "John Carter" is quite good. The demo discs are recoded in a special way to exaggerate the effect reaching out of the screen ( similar at exerienced in the cinema pre-views) whereas most stuff seems to create a feeling of depth, reaching back into the screen.
In my opinion active is better than passive as the latter uses a polarizing system which affects clarity but you don't have expensive, battery operated glasses.
Actually there is not much good 3D content around, even OSN seems to have given up - the HD broadcasts are more interesting. I bought a SONY and am very satisfied with it but whilst the panel is Samsung and you can adjsut the sharpness, it seems to be sharper on their Samsung sets.
You get what you pay for. Good luck, but recommend you get a player and suround sound system to maximise the enjoyment from your investment.
Samsung :)))
Buying a screen is soo complicated these days .....

Sorry to mention 2 points
a. I would prefer Non-smart TV, as i wont be needing wi-fi or internet directly on TV as laptop serves that purpose.
b. Is 200 motion Hz enough or should i go for 400?
