52 weeks - 52 things to try this year

Make 2018 a year to remember and try something new and different every week (or every second week if you’d rather). Here at QL we’ve compiled a list of must-tries for anyone living or staying in this wonderful country, or anywhere really, for the next few months. So here’s to January!

Week 1 (10th to 16th January)

It’s never too late to start reading. So kickstart your reading habit now. To give you that added motivation, take a membership at the newly opened Qatar National Library. It is bound to get you into the mood for written words.

Week 2 (17th to 23rd January)

Health is wealth, they say. So make a decision to stay fit and also see Qatar along the way. There are several companies that arrange kayaking trips to different parts of the country. You can either paddle lazily through the Al Thakhira Mangroves or race your friends to the Museum of Islamic Art.

Week 3 (24th to 30th)

Visit the Museum of Islamic Art and go back in time to an era when royalty was still a way of life. Find out why the world is talking so highly about the IM Pei-designed museum, which is a work of art in itself.

Week 4 (31st January to 6th February)

Go and visit the tallest building in Qatar — the Torch Doha Hotel. If possible, have a meal at the fantastic Three Sixty Hotel, located on the 47th floor. It is the only revolving restaurant in the country and offers a bird’s eye view of the city.
