AJE HR employee arrested
A HR employee at Al Jazeera English was arrested
for 'selling' employees medical records and for sexual harassment.
It's disgraceful coming from HR where you expect to find confidential
advice in relation to problems at work.
At least seven woman have come forward claiming they
were harassed numerous times by this certain individual.
This has been going on for over a year, with employees
knowing about his inappropriate behavior but with no action taken by Al Jazeera.
Many women have complained about his disgusting behavior –
sexual text messages, sexual innuendos when they walked into his office, the
list goes on - and only now since it's revealed that he sold medical records that
management decided to take it serious.
It could happen anywhere you say? Of course, but it shouldn’t
occur in any organization and it need's to be made public.
I am shocked that Al Jazeera didn't act immediately and let
this monster get away with it for so long - but at the same time grateful that he is locked behind bars where he belongs.
Medical Records could also mean "nude Images" of the victim taken with candid camera. I guess the translation from Arabic to English went wrong somewhere or maybe they are trying not to shock the lay-people.
Read what was put at the beginning it said "'selling' employees medical records AND for sexual harassment."
May be a new way of doing it...
never heard of al dis in here before.. serves him right...
I did a quick piece of research and found this regarding drug companies buying medical records.
"It's all about marketing," said the source. "They say it's for
research and to some degree it is. But mainly it's used for research in
how to make more money. We get information about which doctors are
prescribing what drugs, and for how much so we can see which ones we
need to go push harder. There's a ranking list of our best
prescribing doctors. Pharmaceutical manufacturers even use those
reports to decide how much to pay their sales representatives."

I don't go to mythical places with strange men.

"The moral to the thread is that he sexually harrassed women - strange how some just ignore that part and look at the loose ends."
because, a man sexually harassing woman is commonly heard anywhere. Besides, he's been locked up already! But a man selling medical records is just so strange? N'way thanks for the infos...
I wonder who are the buyers? and who's interested with it? CNN or BBC
--j/k--
The abuse and the medial records are not related, he just got caught doing both.
I have no idea why he would sell medical records or who would buy them and frankly don't care- either do most other emplyees affected at AJE - they are more concerned about the sexual harrassement.
The moral to the thread is that he sexually harrassed women - strange how some just ignore that part and look at the loose ends.
I hope it never happens to any of you out there!
who would want to buy medical records?
medical records of each employee should be kept private and confidential to others. But still i dont get it too.
Same question with salax....
Kindly explain further what's the meaning of: " 'selling' employees medical records"...
thanks...
"I will never become just a mere memory"
just wondering ! what kind of medical details he might have leaked which can be used for sexual harrasments, text messages ??
