The American West is on fire
We were in Mexico but had to fly home because the entire state is ablaze....Its 104 degrees today, it's been over 100 all week, and the light show from these fires at night is incredible from my decks.. We had a fire in the nighborhood this winter, and here's my nieghbors escaping- The North Fork runs right through my property

But don't worry folks..I shipped the x wife and kids back down to Mexico, it's just me, my 23 year old son and the dogs now and we aren't evacuating. I never evacuate. We cut down 12 trees today and chopped them up and rolled them down the hill, plan on cutting more tommarow. I'm gonna fight this monster
Good to know that you are having a great time. One of our dear friends named Frenchieman is in that neck of th woods. Please give him a hearty hi de ho if you bump into him..

no mercy is on the way, face her now :P
Because i'm really livin the life down here...33 oz beers for 35 pesos, betting on the horses, eating out for every meal, women everywhere...Its a virtual paradise
I met a nurse at the bus stop this morning,,I gave her a ride to work and she's coming to my party tonight
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
I don't know where you're going in Mexico but i'll be there until the 22nd. I'm in Conchas Chinas, right between Purto Vallarta and Mismaloya..I can be found fishing on Black Beach in the early mornings, Gambling at the El Tortito every mid morning and many afternoons and some evenings, The Barcelo in Mismaloya playing cards in thier card room or by the pool (mostly on weekends), The Lindo Mar, Lagostinos, Roberto's or at the Costco, Walmart or shopping on the Malecon with my daughters.. You can find me there

I'll post more when my daughters head home next week- They are filling all my free time up with shopping right now.
Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. It wasn't too bad we only lost about 400 homes and just a few lives- Not only that every fire we survive makes it less likely we will have another big one at our ranch.
Good to hear you're safe, man!
Fingers crossed Mandi!
The fires are getting worse, I hope we hear from Bull today.
Mandi
stay safe bull and keep posting your stories.
Glad all went well for you bull...hope your neighbours were as fortunate. Enjoy your travels. I will be in TX by tomorrow and in Mexico a while later.
Truly you have a lot to be thankful for. Now looking forward to all those stories. Keep posting Bull, and take care!
I'm so glad! The news has been reporting bad things about last night..
Mandi
Your words mean a lot to me Nomercie- Seriously, youre very nice
Thanks
Your prayers were answered! I woke up at 3pm to a major monsoon packed with relentless rains and hail. The heavens opened up and the fires (near me anyway) layed right down. I have a lot of stories about last nights drama but i'll wait until the subject comes up again in the normal course of conversation before share them. I'm packing now- I'm heading to Mismaloya via IAH in the morning. I'm bringing my Labtop so i'll keep in touch here
Thanks so much again-
Best of luck Bull, stay safe!
Good luck today, I'm following on CNN.
Mandi
We survived the night, boy do I have some stories..Gotta get some sleep now before it gets hot again today
100 degrees and windy later
The Ranch is still in serious jeapordy
The Sheriff just opened my gate, drove the 1/4 mile down my driveway and yelled up "Bull, are you gonna evacuate!?"
My answer:
"NO"
And he drove off at 100 mph..
Oh and while i'm posting pictures I wanted to show that my mothers day gift to my ex wife (and mother of 5 outta 6 of my kids) bloomed..
I promised someone here i'd post it when it blossumed

Thanks Mandi- Were gonna be alright. The female dogs and barn cats are at my daughters house down in LoDo, the cattle is ready to go in the river, and me and the boy are ready to fight the blaze off the structures with water from my ponds...
All systems are go and this could be a night to remember
This is livin
Its just over the ridge.. Were bracing ourselves for desiaster here..
yesterday
Just now
Prayers for you and the animals.
Mandi
The Waldo Creek fire, the one nearest to me just blew up! I know it's heading this way because while me and the boy were cuttin down trees today we saw a mother bear and her cubs, at least 25 deer, 35 Elk and a Cougar run by escaping the flames. It's been my experience that they are usually about 10 miles ahead of the blaze. This could be a rough night folks..Just put on a pot of Blue Mountain Coffee- The best coffee in the world, the only coffee that tastes as good as coffee smells. Only grown on one side, at one altitude on the Blue Mountain in Jamaica
An uneventful night- Gotta cut down some more trees today, I'll post pics later
Sorry to hear that Bull, stay safe!
So,, it happened everywhere not only in Villagio
Never seen a forest fire this fierce in my life, though I do come from a country where we got pretty large and dense forests too. Good to know your neighbors got away safely.
"I'll tell you'all what I told the little lady- Don't worry, if ya don't hear from us again it just means we burned to death" Good God! Don't even think about such awful stuff.
Insha Allah, you all should be ok, and your properties safe from harm's way.
Do take care Bull, and hope and pray for the safety of both you and your lad.
OK, pardner, but be safe!
Mandi
Just got the cattle all penned up by the river. If the fire blows over the ridge tonight were all just gonna get in the river. I'll tell you'all what I told the little lady- Don't worry, if ya don't hear from us again it just means we burned to death
