Any nurses here?

My wife who'll be joining me here shortly is a theatre nurse and hoping to secure work at one of Doha's hopsitals. Anybody have any clues on how best to go about this? Apart from being assured by my employers that this shouldn't present a problem, we have no idea how to go about finding her work. I was literally going to cold call hospitals, hopefully find the HR person, and ask the question. Anybody know of a better idea? All ideasand comments gratefully received.

biggest medical employer here is Hamad Medical Corporation. Their website http://www.hmc.org.qa/hmcnewsite/ doesn't show any nurse positions under Vacancies, but I know that turn over is quite high so a CV sent to them will certainly get considered.

PS the reason turnover is high is to do with Asian staff using Qatar as a stepping stone to Canada, and/or getting married. I think morale and conditions are OK and I know that professionalism and training, sometimes lacking in the past, is being very strongly encouraged.

nurses are in a great demand everywhere, and its a real responsible job they do, all credits to the nurses in this world.

what you could do best is approach all the hospitals in person with you cv, meet the admin dept and see how it takes off from there.its always better to meet them face to face and study their response, if you are looking for placement.

most setups have a proper hr system, so it wont be problem.

also check the hamad website, if it helps.i know a lot of indian nurses who were working at small clinics and have been inducted in to the hospitals on the hospital sponsorship, so insha'allh it will be fine for your wife too.

if i come to know of anything else that could help you, i shall let you know.i could ask my contacts in the hospital how they went about it, it will most probably be what i have already stated.
