He was thought to be the oldest man in Tokyo - but when officials went to congratulate Sogen Kato on his 111th birthday, they uncovered mummified skeletal remains lying in his bed.

i accept ;)

maybe real meeting will not let us judge on each other like this, because every one has a good side in him, some people get shy to let it out,or circumstances press on it .

Lets not go into that direction people. He already said that he thinks this happened due to lack of right religion which shows what he is implying. Better ignore.

I Would like to see his reaction though, if some one intentionally misspells his prophet's name again and again. That wouldn't be funny, I guess!

And despite you adding hahaha it's not funny.

I belive in this case it is just a terminology ... Not meant to mean actual mummification..

For example : http://english.pravda.ru/hotspots/crimes/86733-0/

By drmana• 30 Jul 2010 17:39
drmana

one_shot, I believe this happens only due to lack of right humane values and nothing else.

I don't believe they could have killed him as that would defy whole purpose of their concealing his death as they were after his money. But we never know...

By drmana• 30 Jul 2010 17:36
drmana

No idea edifis/rishi, may be the place was too cold....but whether mummification was natural or induced, the family members were as heartless and one could possibly be.

dramna

maybe the whole story didn't reveal yet

you could discover that they killed him ;)

i agree with u that it is sad story, but do u expect from people who worship money?

by the way "money worshipers" are increasing day by day

after a time you will not post similar story because worse will be posted.

this is what happen when lack of right religion, right education ,right family manners.

Drmana I know that happens. There are fine examples like Otzi- Preserved by Alpine glaciers at the Otzal.

Tollund man etc.

It can happen by Ice, salt, Bitumen etc.

But how on earth natural mummification can happen in ones bed room!

drmana, this is not a case of natural mummyfication..

i can understand..at sub-zero or above about seventy or eighty dedrees celcius, the bacteria starts to go back into the cyst form..

By drmana• 30 Jul 2010 17:27

edifis / Rishi, natural mummification does occur in conditions such as extreme cold and extreme dry hot conditions( no presence of any moisture).

one_shot, for me it is a sad news where an old man was lying dead for 30 years in his bed while his family members were happily using his pension fund. This is a story of greed and lack of humane feelings.

mummification is something which can be done on a corpse with the help of easily available materials like salt, oil and plaster bandage etc. there is a particular method of mummyfying by removing the organs from the body and wrapping with body with these materials..

it is to be seen that who had access to kato's pension account or who was his nominee in the account. certainly its cheating and the law should prevail.
