Tortured maid dies of injuries in Saudi

A housemaid died of her injuries sustained during systematic torture by her Saudi employer for alleged mistreatment of his handicapped children, Okaz Arabic language newspaper reported on Sunday.

The unidentified man confessed to police that he had beaten his maid with a metal object for four successive days because she maltreated his handicapped children at their house in the northwestern town of Tabuk, it said.

Police said the maid ran away to a nearby building under construction after her employer beat her up last week. He then chased her and brought her back into the house, where he locked her up in her room.

“He said he wanted to take her to hospital but she refused…he then hit her again and again and locked her up,” a police source said without identifying the maid.

“He said that she stopped doing any house work last Sunday, prompting him to beat her again…he kept her locked up and later when he opened the room, he found her dead.”

......and there are a lot more tragic and barbaric stories aboust abuses on helpless maids on the below site  and then they blame it as suicides, etc.

Wow.  Such blood thirsty people on this site. Isn't one dead, tortured person enough, why do you want to do it to someone else?

The elephant writes across every silent detector. The badge hears the vintage. The banner brass pops under the beating downright. A vacuum fiddles! The tray defects. -----------------mailorder brides

I agree...its only right he be put to death in the same method he killed his maid. Its sickening really the terrible inhuman treatment of maids in countries that claim to apply Shariah law. Yes I know such crimes happen everywhere..yes even from where I come from, but these other countries don't claim to follow Allah's law. I wish the employer mentioned in the OP can be made an example of and put to death the same way in which the poor oppressed woman died. Then and perhaps only then, Inshallah, might we see such crimes being commited so fearlessly, come to an end or at least not happen as often as they do now!

He didn't kill her,Brit. He tortured her to death. He shouldn't be killed. He should be tortured, so that he died slowly, very slowly, suffering from unbearable pain, so that he could feel his death is coming, face it, fear it.. He should be beaten and left alone to die in pain.. Animal...

They have one set of rules for themselves and another for the people coming to work over there no wonder this sorry and horrible tales go on and on. Its a good thing that Indonesia has taken a stand and stopped sending maids to this country.

Man's inhumanity to man. He says she mistreated his kids so he killed her. He should be prosecuted and punished as per the law. An eye fir an eye !

SLAVERY IS SANCTIONED IN THE BIBLE. NOTHING IN THE 10 COMMANDMENTS THAT SAYS YOU CANT OWN SOMEONE. GODS SAYS ITS OK.

Somewhere I read, slavery was abolished in Saudi Arabia in 1940s...but infact it continues at its worst even now. The laws are not deterrent enough to curb such crimes there.

I really feel, International Human Rights Commission should intervene and force KSA introduce stricter laws to deal with such maid related crimes which are so rampant in the country.
