well i was in a minor accident yesterday where  i was on a two way road and a woman tried to overtake me while i was trying to park and  grazed my car on the front right side. the problem was that the police didnt speak any english and neither of us drivers spoke any arabic.

i have to go to the police station today and want to know what is the arabic work for

 overtaking

parking

wrong side

and most importantly "not my fault"

thanks in advance

thanks everyone,

just came back and apparently the other party had already talked with the police and painted another picture where i was labelled guilty but the corporal spoke english and when i explained my side of the story to him he asked both the parties to come in the evening. if nothing will be decided then he will lodge a case and i will have to fight it in court. another battle awaits me.wish me luck

What about this:

overtaking = تجاوز

parking = موقف

wrong side = وجهة خاطئة

not my fault = ليست غلطتي

thanks in advance = شكراً مسبقاً

LOLLLLLZ -;)

lol...'ana maafi ghalat' = I am not wrong/it's not my fault. 'I love you' = very nice policeman. Excellent skills at dealing with the public :)

well luckily neither does the other lady so i guess there is hope.

well i do speak very little arabic and kept saying she was coming from "khalf" and " ana maafi ghalat" well ghalat is urdu for fault1

the funnything is the police man tried to explain he could say whose fault it is and said "i love u" to both of us!!!heheh!!! i guess he was just trying to say he is not biased and doesnt have anything against either of us!

oh Man you are in a bad situation, specially that you don't speak Arabic.

my advice is to find an Arabic speaker to go with you.

anyways:

Overtaking= tajaooz

Parking= Mawqef

Wrong side= Itijah Khate'e

not my fault= Laisat Khaltaty
