Arabian Nights?

The 15th Asian Games closed off beautifully and magically as it had opened. but what i can't quite understand is why did the organisers choose the Arabian Nights theme with absolutely no connection to the concept of Asian Games unlike the meaningful theme of the Arabian seeker visiting this great Asian continent and learning of its vast treasures for the opening ceremony.

Interesting too that they featured Lawrence of Arabia ... he doesn't normally figure in the top ten list of Arab's Favourite People?!?!
