are animals household items ?

By ndglc

While having a look on classifieds I have been astonished to see that a cat and a dog are to be sold in a household items list of " very good quality items and all prices negociable" !
Who are those people that consider animals as household items and who try to sell them when they are no longer useful ?
What is your opinion ? I am sure I will not buy anything from these people.

I thought animals is not even spelled the same as furniture.

black cat with absolutely yellow eyes...i found him on the street when he was 8-9 months old..i also found out that his mom got killed in the car accident... so sad.. he was extremely weak, couldn't even jump...then he grew up, but never became really strong.. i think his miserable childhood affected all his life.. he passed away when he was 9 y.o....:( .. hope yours one will have long and happy life...

No, she's no persian, she's a midget Korean mutt. Got to the size of a 4 month old cat and stopped growing. She's my baby, and at only 3 years old I hope she has loads of time left. :)

Some people treat pets as toys. Every year around January time, the number of dogs in Battersea Dogs Home goes up significantly.

The reason being that people give them as Christmas gifts and the novelty wears off pretty quick.

Sad! but fact of life..

well... not everybody exactly know that they might be moving in 1 year..or even in few months...also i think for some people it is a business to breed and sell pets...

and gypsy.. you dont have to keep your kitty forever.. cats usually don't make more then 12-14 years....lol...

btw, is it a persian kitty by the chance?

I really don't get it, even though I see it everyday. When I found my kitty and took her to the vet the vet gave me the choice of leaving her with them for them to find a home or me taking her. I knew me taking her meant keeping her forever or 100% having a place to put her. Why don't other people treat animals the same way? Why take in a cat or dog if you know you are moving in a year?

I got one animal in the house.

I'm the animal!

I'm the pet!

no one else!

LOL

as pets become part of the family, seems a little like selling off your children!!!

By anonymous• 10 Jun 2008 14:35

could be! it could be worse they could be leaving 'big ted' behind.....

no, seriously these people should be shot at dawn for selling animals in a sale an I'd like to see the perpetrators themselves sitting on a wallpaper table with a price sticker on their forehead!

You've been on the chloroform again:)..

I saw an advert for "pet dog for sale" last week.

If people can't take care of the pets or can't take them back when leaving Qatar, then does it not make sense to find a good home for them ?

it is hard enough to find a new home for your pet, leave alone trying to sell it ???

By anonymous• 10 Jun 2008 14:27

maybe they are not real cat and dog, more like a statue or something..did it state that they were alive mmmmm??

spay and neuter your animals. If you don't want to take your animals with you when you leave, then you shouldn't have them in the first place is my opinion.

even husbands are household items, aren't they??

By anonymous• 10 Jun 2008 13:06

I wish we could advertise our "BAD WIFE'S" or "bad Girl Friends" as disposable items.

I'm pretty sure some wifes feel the same way, about the irony of the husbands.

This is not a funny matter. People here think of pets as disposable items, which makes me really angry and disappointed.

advertise them..

They are probably leaving the country and want to 'dispose" of everything..

I don't think the one selling means no harm when he/she included their pets on the household items for sale, she indicated there that the animals are looking for new owners that will love them...since they are leaving qatar...just my opinion...
