Haha, yeah..I live in Faisaliya and there are a few Mosquitos about:)
The compound I was trying to describe has 'Aziziyah' over the gate.
Hi
I live in Al Zahoor in Aziziyah. The compound descriptions I have read seem like Al Faisaliyah compound but I might be mistaken.
One thing to watch out for though - mosquitoes. Apparently, the area used to be marshy years ago and has been reclaimed. But its full of bugs... ewww
Hey, i will make a new thread called Aziziya2 with sat photos to tell u an idea; (had a few minutes on my hands)So, you know in terms of scale the green grass u see i would say is certainly the size of a football pitch. I would think the compound is around 15 years old!?
Anyone, have a look at them...
Oh, and you asked where it was. Just off Salwa Road, indeed, about 10 km out from 'central' Doha, and a couple of km from the clearly visible Khalifa stadium. Come to think of it, for someone who doesn't mind a walk, Azizya would be a good location for working at or attending the games.
Aziziyah compound is average size - 100 homes perhaps? It's got a small shop, though there are some larger shops within walking distance. Also within walking distance (about 1 km?)is Garvey's Club. There's an open sports court of some sort, though I've never investigated it. (I don't live there.) Gardens aren't large, but adequate for family barbeques and small parties. Residents are about half and half Indian and western, from what I've seen. Al Jazeera Academy put their teachers there.
