Bank Loans
Dear All,
I want to leave Qatar, because of a better job opportunity outside Qatar, but I took a personal loan since 3 months and I am still paying for its instalments, and my final settlement doesn’t cover the amount that I took, first of all, can I leave the country and I have an overdue payment, and what if I left the country and I didn't pay the loan what are the consequences, and can I enter Qatar again or GCC countries.
Thanks for your assistance
nope huff...canada is not bubbly...
thank you atif..that was helpful...will consider that
lol... CANADA!! you change to BUBBLY1975??? lol.. are you still herE? it's 2 years since? LOL..
1. Find a GUARANTOR with less liability, has more or equal salary of urs, working in the same company with u and has an account with the same bank too. Then u can leave the country for better opportunity and that poor guy will keep on giving the installments on your behalf till you become able to settle this loan along with that poor guy's dues too which he paid as a gurantor on ur behalf.
.
Now For this purpose, it's extremely difficult to find one who can trust blindly thinking that you will settle all ur dues once u get settled with ur new job in a new country. VERY RISKY FOR U & FOR UR GUARANTOR coz nobody knows what will happen tomorrow.
dang!!! hahaha..yeah..am thinking of leaving too... LOL
***BUBBLY SHEEPISH***
Maybe bubbly is in the same situation... give him sone idea...

I'm just sorry this bloke chose "Canada" as a username.
Gives the rest of us Canucks a bad name...
Better manage those finances a little better.
Seriously, do not try to run out on any debt. This is taken very seriously here and would end up very badly for you.
Your sponsor will require you provide clearance letters from Q-Tel, your bank, Water, Electricity and the Qatar Public Library all stating you owe nothing.
Some sponsors are also in the habit of publishing your picture in the papers and asking anyone who has claims against you to come forward before they grant you your exit permit.
While we non-Qataris are always clamoring for the lifting of the exit permit rule the Qataris say it's there for a purpose.
Sometimes they have a point.
now i will try to give you some sort of answer without commenting on the moral / ethical issue.
If you are using an international bank e.g. HSBC ... they can and will track you down (the world local bank:) ), you will get court papers against you etc and can destroy your credit rating.
This can be achieved with o/ local Qatari banks too.
We are in a world of globalisation and you are never an account number away.
+when this happens you will get footed with a large legal bill too, including any from your own lawyers.
i can understand you are in dilemma, but it wont be right leaving without paying your loans, moreover if you leave your work, then the bank may have to give clearance that you have no dues, till then you may not be able to leave, and if they get a whiff that you are trying to flee without paying or relaxing on the payment, the bank may decide on legal action, dont worry you wont be able to enter qatar again, other gcc countries, may be possible unless they ask for a reference from this place.
you need to think this out carefully before you take any decision, better speak to a higher authority in the bank who could probably sort out the problem for you, if you have money stacked someplace else, you could arrange for that money to be used to pay off the loan.
did u place anyone as your guarantor.hee hee, if u leave, that person will have hell to pay, unless they accompnay you.
think think.......something will work out insha'allah.
It's people like you that will ensure honest expats don't get any loans...... because you do things like skip the country on repayments.....How unfair.....
Even though I don't live in my home country right now.... Every month I pay my accounts and will continue to do so until they have been completed.
I hope you rethink just leaving without paying.....
X
Do you seriously want to leave the country without paying back your bank loan?
Maybe you can give them your ID number of country of origin & passport photocopies. Maybe you could send them money by using the international wire transfer or a cheque.
How u can your commitment to the bank, and dont paying back your loan?!! It is like if you steal money.
