best SUV for under 90K?
hello everyone,
with the arrival of our daughter 2 weeks ago, our 9 month old mazda 3, which is a great little car, isn't cutting it anymore.
we're in the market for something bigger but it can't be too big. the mitsubishi nativa is about as big as the wife wants to go. that one is a little under 90K with a V6 and good options.
anyone with first hand experience care to comment?
what else would the owners out there recommend?
chevy trailblazer seems not too expensive. maybe the honda CRV, or RAV4 (although i think that one is more $$$).
is there anything out there that is better value than the nativa?
thanks.
well crv, qashqai and rav4 are short on space compared to trailblazer or nativa but better resale!!!!
Just go forthe Honda CRV
Maintenance cost for Trailblazer and other American Cars are low, the one's that say otherwise have never owned an american car here.
Go for Trailblazer, it's much nicer than the Nativa (when I arrived , I also looked at the Nativa- but went for the Trailblazer and I have never regretted it)
Only negative part is that max torque from engine is at 4800 rpm.
i had a cavalier Z24 in canada for 4 years and it ran very well.
although the resale value is still not there.
chevy has a sale now so at present it's trailblazer or nativa - i think the other japanese ones (nissan, honda, toyota) are either more expensive or have less options.
i'll do the rounds this week and see.
how are maintenance costs - someone told me american cars are expensive to maintain here. any truth to that?

I got a Trailblazer (among 3 other cars, german, american and British Cars) and it has been fantastic- I have driven it 150 000 kilometers over 3 years with no problems at all.
It even performs great off road. This myth that American cars are of a lesser quality than japanese should be killed- it is usually said by persons with little knowledge of american cars or cars at all. It might have been some truth in it before- today it is just BS.
I would go with japanese because they are better quality than american vehicles, and have higher resale value.
