Beware (Traffic Violations)

Last week i took my car for Renewal of Road Permit and came to know that i have a traffic violation of 700 Riyals.. and it was on al-waab street at 12AM during ramadan. It was a week day and week days at 12midnight i don't go out at all...First of all i decided to pay the fine and get my car's RP renewed, but suddenly changed my mind. Next day morning i went to madinat khalifa traffic department and asked for a picture. In the picture it was a toyota landcruiser(not my car) the difference between my car's registration number and the registration number of the Landcruiser was only the last digit. I showed my registration number to that fellow in traffic deparment and after confirming he said maybe it was a typing mistake and the traffic violation on my car will be deleted by tomorrow morning.whether this mistake happened or was done willingly i will recommend everyone to first see the picture of your car and verify that its you before paying any taffic speed radar violations.some people simply pay without verifying.please don't do that.

Interesting...I've recently been hit with 3 fines from earlier in the year, but I've been in and out of the country since and wasn't stopped at the airport, I should check these out...

taurz...if u pay the fine then they won't show u the pic...and only if u get an over speeding radar...for no parking and minor violations they don't provide pics...but yeah ask for the pic before you pay..verify that its you and then u can pay if u have made a mistake.

pilgram ...go in the morning and u will be shown the pic...in evening the violations dept is closed.

Mark lester...it can happen again too

translator...these errors are really increasing..easy way to earn and snatch money from expats..if u have approach u can do anything here ...so many people are so scared to ask the traffic dept that they don't bother to go and check..they simply pay and leave...i no longer call it an error..its a planned strategy to rob expats

These errors are increasing, I was giving a violation which requires me to go to court, upon further checking, it turns out that the violation code was wrongly entered to the computer.

Perhaps they should have a double checking system, were two independent workers enter the same data, and the computer should flag cases when entered data does not match.

I just checked mine and same thing. Apparently I was driving on Al Luqta street (somewhere around Carnegie Mellon according to Google maps) when I've never driven on Al Luqta street to my knowledge, at 11:15 pm on a Wednesday night. Now I'm in bed on Wednesday night at 8:30 cause I have work in the morning, and my husband does as well, so unless someone stole our car, it's not us.

noms..how r u doin buddy?? well giving away 700 riyals for free is stupidity, its better to give it to a poor or needy rather then paying it to traffic deparment..they are rich..they already have landcruisers man..they will start keeping nissan safaris soon :P ,,,,as i said no one knows whether it was a mistake or else it was done willingly.
