Big (1988)
Stars: Tom Hanks, Robert Loggia, Elizabeth Perkins, etc.
Directed by Penny Marshall
A 13-year old boy takes pity that he was small and wishes he was at least big enough to face the world...but not when he really did get his wish after playing with a mysterious carnival magic slot machine in the corner...and not when he really did faced the grownup world as he has the body of a 30 year old man.
A simple, lighthearted, well-acted and well-directed film (and a rising star opportunity for Tom Hanks at that time), the story deals fully with the innocence of a child-turned-man against the backgrounds of the grownups, and how he shapes them and how they shaped him at the same time.
Well worth repeating to watch. Doesn't wear out with the modern times and modern audiences.
