I went there today and it is a very sad place, all the animals are in cramped cages and look so ill, my daughter would cry if she saw it, I am glad she is not coming to see this torture

No one forces them to live in the labour camps, they can go home, the animals have no choice!

as the prophet (peace be on him) rightly said

Those who have mercy will receive the mercy of the Most Merciful. Have mercy on those who are on earth, the One in heavens will have mercy on you."

we can draw lesson from the story of a person who had fed water to a thirsty dog by climbing down a well and bringing water in his shoe, and attained salvation for that act.

When asked if there is any reward for nice treatment to the animals, the Prophet(peace be on him) answered that there is reward in being kind to all vertebrates,

a MAN is good as long has he has a good and gentle heart

i had seen a cat in waqif that has an eye infection looks serious

yes oryx

u r right

MAN is selfish he cares only for the fullfillment of his ammusement and petty monetery gains.

not only the parrots every animal there is kept in the worst manner. no place to move in those extremely constricted cages.

They are beautiful when they are happy in the home in Brazil.... not when they are half way across the world in cage. Then they are tragic.

u cant deny brazilian parrots r beautifull right?

not only that qatar is full of rich spoilt foriegners and locals, well if not all then many of them.

so taking advantage of the scenerio they r most obviously priced high.

anyway its a wastage of money,

may be u can give in charity to the poor and hungry even if u have half the money.

This is the main reason why I very seldom go to Souk Waqif....just knowing what is happening there is very unpleasant.

Can someone tell my WHY there are Brazilian Parrots in Souq Wagif.... I have seen them in their natural habitat.... flying free with their chums soaring up into the sky....

I just want to cry when I see them at Souq wagif - in a tiny cage so far from home...

Please do NOT buy anything like this..... please stop this horrible trade and respect these beautiful creaturs

Because they've been captured and imported illegally perhaps? I don't know but given the reputation of the dealers in Souq Waqif I wouldn't be surprised. Nor would I be surprised if they were sick as is often the case of animals/birds there.
