Make your case for "The imperialist wars were always going to happen with or without obl" besides telling me how many bullets were shot, and I will respond.

"Where's all the imperialism you were talking about? Even know what it is or has civics class not reached that far yet?"

WTF??? Have you just woken up and missed the last 10 years?

So this is your response to defend your statements? Really had high hopes for you volley girl, but you like your mates have turned out to be a waste of space . You are officially terminated from my reply postings

Sounds more like an assassination/manhunt to me. Where's all the imperialism you were talking about? Even know what it is or has civics class not reached that far yet?

Discredited by who? Wanted vengeance? I don't believe there was one afgani involved in 9/11. You know better? And more to AQ than OBL? You mean - "10 years, millions of bullets, five hundred thousand rockets, ten thousand cruise missiles, a billion tons of bombs, thousands dead, invasions, tanks, helicopters & military satellites, stealth bombers, fighter jets, the SAS, SBS, CIA, FBI, MI5, MI6, Navy Seals, Trillions of dollars, and they finally found him......................................in his ******* house!"

Love to hear your highly informed and educated response to this volleygirl . I rooting for you that you will be able to deliver . Big time

You're from another planet kid! The planet of 'I cannot make my own argument so I make up stuff and credit it to others so I can argument with that'. Hysterical!

Give it up kid. Time to go and do your homework.

The fact that you can't produce the posts that persuaded you to disbelieve the story, the fact that you cant express an opinion when challenged, the fact that you cannot maintain an argument, the fact that you contradict yourself in postings and the fact that the straw man tactic is you means of attack when you have been exposed makes you easy pickings .

You are indeed (comments removed)!

Rizzo. One post has been removed and this one edited. Take care!!

Fair enough VG. Will let it go unless he responds with a real argument. ;-)

By volleygirl5• 11 May 2011 14:54

The OP story has been discredited long ago. Even if it was true the US wanted vengeance as WK said and there was more to Al Qaeda that OBL.

Rizo (Scotia Bank, Mathboy, et. al. for all his earlier incarnations) is a toad who thinks he is clever by interrogating everyone without offering any arguments of his own. He was probably told by a second-rate teacher that this constituted the Socratic method or some nonsense. Too bad he did not go to a proper school. Different username but same MO. FM I don't know why you bother with him. Best to let the little kid whine in his corner rather than clog up a decent discussion.

Your inability to understand my post is your problem, not mine. I'm not trying to persuade you of anything.

"What is the war about then Frenchie if you disagree with me?"

I am still waiting for you to make a case for your viewpoint. Care to explain without relying on profanity?

More news sites reported that Bush rejected Taliban offers:

Sorry Rizzo, when I wrote the comment I did not realize the mentally challenged such as yourself would be resurrecting an old ID after your former one was banned.

My comment is that I had forgotten the Independent had printed the story, and thanked the OP for reminding me. I did not say that I accepted it as a correct story. I was persuaded at the time and by QLers' posts on this thread that it is not entirely accurate.

So if you accept the article, what was the war all about then? If imperialism, what sort do you mean? Is it imperialism if the US withdraws?

I think OBL was just the excuse needed to invade Afghanistan and then Iraq (even though WMD was mixed with Al Qaeeda being in Iraq by Bush/ Blair etc)..

I can also recall the meetings taking place between the US and the Taliban officials in which the US offered the Taliban a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs if they did not cooperate.

A lot of it has to to with the US wanting access to the region; oil pipeline routes; keeping a closer eye on Iran and the democratization project for the region.

Remember; just as the US has allegedly killed OBL without a trial; he was also convicted without a trial because Al Qaeeda was the 'bad guy' in the wild wild west of afghanistan and the cowboy Dubya was going to 'smoke em out'!

Cabbage Guardian also reported the same news at the time. Surely a British newspaper can't be part of the propaganda.

Remember this??

"I had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder"

You dont dispute what the article claims, in fact you indicate it was already known to you. So in that case, if the Taliban offer was reject by the US, what was the war all about?

By frenchieman• 11 May 2011 05:54

Specifically against Afghanistan? Evidence or at least and argument please . . .

OBL was never offered to Bush by the Taliban - he would have taken them up on the offer if it was the case.

This is propaganda.

By EXLegend• 10 May 2011 17:02

actually a friend of a friend was present in the conference between Taliban and US govt officials that was held in Sheraton Qatar in 2001... and thats how i know it.

besides i have read Taliban statements declaring to protect Osama even if it was the last Talib woman alive...

How do you know this?

By EXLegend• 10 May 2011 16:48

what i know is that news is fake... Taliban never agreed to hand over OBL... or Bush would have danced naked to accept the offer rather than smashing US economy

Now let's hope that "the allies" can exit from the region having saved face...

By PreZ• 10 May 2011 10:19

..handing over a guest, that to a person so close to the Talibans principles is totally against the Pashtun psyche. Even if Bush agreed, it would have never fallen through, would have given Taliban breathing time to reorganize and OBL would have had better chances of escaping..

How he escaped the encirlement later is a different story..

the war machine would have lost a lot of money at the time.

Ofcourse he rejected the offer. People were baying for blood and he gave it to them. If he had accepted the offer then they would have killed only one man for the 3000 killed on 9/11. Not much of a revenge.
