Hi

does anyone know......... if i was to buy a propoerty here in Qatar, would i automatically get a residency visa, and therefore be allowed to work freely?

Just thinking long term as i'm currenlty sponsered by my firm, and happy too.

Cheers

The small store as an entity will apply for a work visa and bring your cousin under the sponsorship of the store

Of course nationality, title, salary all decides if immigration will grant visa or not

The rationale behind granting resident permit for owners as I understand it is to be able to access and manage their property as needed, while working requires a sponsor be it a company or a firm or even if it was your own company you have to have a national partner with 51% share who is your sponsor in this case.

So work is a different story

May be someone else can provide more insight into this

Expats buying property are allowed to buy resdential property in certain approved areas. If you buy a resedentail property it is actually a right of utilization for 99 years not full ownership and this allows you residence permit but not for work permit

Hope this helps
