Cars, and more cars

Can anyone tell me which is the better 4 wheel drive to buy. The Mitsubishi Pajero or the Rexton.?
The pajero is lovely and comes with 7 years warrenty but we hear parts can be expensive so that might affect the resale value. The Rexton has a mercedes benz engine and the interior has been designed by MB but as it is very new on the market noone seems to be sure how the resale will go. It comes with 5 years warrenty. both are around the 100,000 qr. We like both and can't make a decision. Any car buffs out there that can offer advice?

I thought it was me. The Toyota dealership and many around here have no idea about customer service. In this artificial market I guess they don't have to be. Oh what steady flow of customers with disposable income can do to customer service.

My son is going to be starting at Park House School 12th November and until I get a car of my own I do not know how I am going to get him to school. I hear taxi's are not that easy to flag down in the road. We are going to be living in Al Saad Road (think that's correct spelling!) can anyone advise or does someone live in that area who would be so kind as to give me a lift for the first week.

Any suggestions welcome

My hubby today has just got his brand new sparkling white Pajero V6 and he says its great. They were very popular in Dubai and I'm hoping the white will show off that fantastic tan i'm going to get.

105,000. I think it started at 110,000. The rouble was that we did not get the feeling that they we interested in dealing with westerners or non qatari people. All the prices were in arabic (good job I have been practising my arabic numbers) and we felt like we were being tolerated. So we left the showroom. However it was beautiful on the inside but boxy on the out.

that has confirmed what we have felt and heard. We gonna do test drive this weekend. Whoopee. We did look at the fortuner. It is a lovely vehicle. We did get an offer of one for 105,000 from the dealer. We have been torn between the two but Mitsubishi offer 7 years warrenty to Toyota's 3 plus we think the Pajero looks far better on the outside and it goes better with my favourite handbag. Those go faster strips on the Toyotas do nothing for my complexion.

BTW what does e46M3 mean?

Go with the Pajero. Resale will be easier, you won't have any trouble getting rid of it if you want to sell. You don't need to worry about parts while the car is under warranty except for the consumables like oil and air filters and brake pads.

But while you're at it why don't you take a look at the Toyota Fortuner?

Well i guess if i decide to go sand duning in a 4wheeler I will use the experts so i reckon day to day use will be on road. looks like the PAJERO for us unless someone has some info on that. Seems a very popular choice in Q. Our next problem is what colour. If we choose white how will we find it in City Centre car park at night.

Winnie,

I've heard that the Ssssang Yongggg Rexton is not very refined on-road (but a capable off-roader). If you're on of those who (for reasons unbeknownst to me) gets a 4x4 for home to office use, I suggest you avoid.
