Cheetah (Tiger) rumours quashed

DOHA: Qatar’s public security officials have quashed rumours about a cheetah being on the prowl in the area under the jurisdiction of the North Security Department (NSD).

“It’s all rumour, so one must not lend an ear to it,” the NSD said in a press statement issued yesterday.

The department received several complaints about the animal being spotted in different locations. “The security personnel conducted a thorough search of the areas but couldn’t find any cheetah,” said the statement.

“Some of the complaints were malicious and necessary action has been taken against them,” the statement added.

According to the director of the NSD, Brigadier Ali Mohamed Al Nuaimi, the department treats such complaints very seriously and if verified instant action is taken.

There is nothing to worry about as the security authorities are very much keen to guarantee security and peace in society. Efforts are on to find out how the talk of a cheetah being sighted began in the first place, the director said.

Cheetah, Tiger, Lion, Pussy Cat...whatever i had my doubts from the very beginning about the whole hoax, knew it would be a rumor. Even that picture that was posted in FB could have been faked, i mean I've seen it, if the guy that clicked the pic was actually clicking a pic he'd have at least tried to have clicked a few more pics that were clear.

Really, attacked and killed two horses?? Wow, I know my husband works in Education city and got the email from the Qatar Foundation about the tiger being on campus too. You know the gov't here is going to deny/quash "rumors" because that would draw unwanted attention to the country that they allow certain individuals to keep wild animals as pets.Wouldn't want this to make international news now would we???

So the pic of the cat that looked like a Full grown tiger in West Bay Lagoon was just a figment of our imagination. Or the warnings that went out in the Education City or that fact that the critter attacked and killed two horses? Not the best in cover ups!

be carefull.. NSD might take action against people spreading wrong rumors. Its not good ethically also, because resident living in those area will be afraid to go out.
