Copy of car keys
Hey y'all,
another annoying question: I need to copy my car keys (Merc M-Class) as mine is falling apart. Where can I get a copy with remote control, that is programmed on my central lock? Any idea about the costs, just roughly?
(The key I have is a copy as well, so it should be possible somewhere!)
Will check it out!
When i lost the key for my land cruiser, i found a keymaker near the Petrol Station Near Benz Showroom IN Ind. Area (there is a shoping complex) he made duplicate key in an affordable price. Dear WhoMe, hope you can find a solution from this keymaker
Best Regards
It's build into the key!
Fob is a seperate remote for the car, not built into the key.
Is yours a fob or built into key ?
Thanks for your answer. I thought of going to NBK, but the key that came with the car is also a non-mercedes copy and works fine (just falling apart!), I wondered if it is possible to go to a car electric shop and get this done...
Oh, and nightmare...Believe me I did not expect a smooth process wiht that... ;-)
The last time I needed a key cut for my Volvo (S60R) it was a nightmare. I had to go to the Volvo dealer with the original, they ordered a new set from Sweden, Then around 2 weeks later the old keys, new keys, fobs and car had to be left to be re-programmed. That took around an hour and cost me a over 300 pounds !
Does the Mercedes key have a built in fob and is the key itself chipped ? Some keys hold a chip that is read when manually opening the car. If not and it's a seperate fob, you may be able to get a blank key cut at city centre. If not I suggest you start at the dealer.
