I was just thinking about travelling to dubai for a 3 days holiday in March with my wife. Which could be the convinient way? Road or Air? Wife prefer by road as we could enjoy the road trip compare to 45 min flight. Well, the question here is which is the safest car that you guys suggest? any other suggestions?

Very troublesome and tiring by road, for the driver and even for the passengers...

By car is better than by air! By flight takes more than 45mins- arrive at the airport before the flight etc... My husband and I fly to Dubai monthly for the weekend and its a pain!

Road road trip is a road trip :D No comparison.

But bear in mind, the road conditions are not great. Especially from Salwa to Silah border (UAE). Once you reach UAE, its a smooth ride from there onwards.

BTW, Speed limits are insane on these roads i.e 140 kmph. People normally drive at 160 kph. The camera flashes at speeds over 160 plus. There is a leverage of 20 kmph. Though you would be overtaken by Landcruisers flying at 200 plus speeds. :D

The choice of vehicle is important. Try to go on a 4x4 or SUV. The road distance is less than 670 km. It takes practically 8 hours for all border clearances and stuff to reach Dubai.

It is worth a road trip :D

It will take one day to travel there and one day to come back just bear in mind. When I say a day I mean anything from 6 to 8 hours due to the border controls the distance is only around 700km roughly.

Plus you will need Saudi Transit visa through an agent and depending on your passport you may get Visa on Arrival at the UAE border!

Thats actually a good idea that ur wife has thought bout, but the question is not which is the safest car!.....A lot of formalities have to be done if u travel by road, which is a real pain.....nothing of that sort by air.
