Doha Food Festival 2010 - Review
The food festival is a good concept but the dishes need a lot more quality improvement, creativity and variety to attract the taste buds of people.
The fish was good but it would have tasted better if it was served warm.
The spring roll tasted light and refreshing but did not come with the right sauce
Yaki Tori looked good in the menu but the chicken was tough and powdery
Mashed potato with spinach tasted average
Ravioli was not tasty with thick pasta skin
While the idea of foie gras fried rice was creative, the dish turned out to be oily, cold and damp. The taste of foie gras was not forthcoming as well.
Mexican Chicken wrap tasted good with the right mix of ingredients.
Risotto with truffle oil was average.
The dishes would also have tasted better if they were kept warm. The windy weather made the food turn cold even faster and be careful of flying paper plates :)
Ive had a few different Fois Gras dishes at Le Mer at the Ritz. I know you can also buy it at La Cigale to prepare at home.
It was over crowded on friday evening
looks like you guys enjoyed...yourself...

Chef, Good review tasted few items there and it was good. Tandoori Kabas were yummy and also liked the Mexican chicken wrap.
thanks for the pics chef. The food certainly looks creative. I wouldn't have minded trying the potato/spinach patties myself.
Well, good first effort Doha!
