Zakir Naik once Openly said that if one leaves Islam willingly -- it's OK to punish him with death sentence. There is a Youtube video of him justifying that.

Has he changed his ideology since then??

I hope he cleared a lot of misconceptions some people or communities had about Islam.

I really liked his answer about apostasy.It has been a long time that people wrongly believed leaving Islam is punishable by Death. He clarified the issue.

Chapter 5:Verse 54 and Chapter 2:Verse 256 would be of no relevance if people keep believing Apostasy is punishable by death.
