I hope Kerrie Suek (the MC for Dunestock) found an electric guitar amplifier to replace the blown one.
I've missed the past 3 Dunestocks (2005, 2006, 2007) so this was my last chance. I have a feeling that there won't be a Dunestock in KSA. Maybe I'll visit Qatar in 2009 just to see Dunestock.
yeah baedaebok...that one and another the same but in pink. I wasn't up for much moving round as bung my knee badly the other day so I was on orders to stay seated.....I did mostly.
I can't say I remember seeing you......I was seated and mostly with my back to the dunes to avoid the wind
Snowyowl, is that your child in red? I'll try to recollect. My dd was wearing only wearing the pink Dunestock shirt. Since dd is only 3, the shirt went down to her ankles (almost). I wore the burgundy version.
Spicemeup, I followed the map and it lead me to a dead-end. The long drive through Wukair (sp?) ended in at a light brown wall. After that, I drove down the usual highway to Sealine, found my way to the road that goes to Salway Road, and turned left at the al-Karrarra sign. In other words, I approached the al-Karrarra turn-off from the opposite direction as the map suggested.
Snowyowl and Owen, thanks for the pics. Now all I have to do digitally superimpose dd on the dune in the pic and presto!
Snowyowl, dd and I may have bumped into you as we were at Dunestock at 3. At that time, I think we were sliding down the dunes and "walking back up". DO you or others have pics of the dunes or people sliding down them?
Like Snowyowl, I left around 4. Novi had advised me that QLers would be coming around 5 or 6 but I couldn't hold off leaving until then. dd's eyes might've been damaged or something else. I might have been scared by harbanger boys that Corne mentioned in another thread.
I was there all day and I can even spot myself in the picture! thanks for posting it. Was a little bit windy and the sands were a bit of a sting on the eyes but was still great, I had a blast and thought it was a great event and very well staffed (I was a volunteer in the fetching pink t-shirts). Hope next year is just as good or maybe even better.
