Finding a dog in Doha

it intrested me so much, although i was searching for a dog and for some reason i was linked to this..

I have to agree with Marjorie, a Border Collie wouldn't be the right choice for Qatar... you have to look at their energy levels.... if they don't have a big yard to play in, they need to be exercised about 3 times a day.... this is hectic in Qatar where it gets so hot....

I am realising all this, because I will be importing my GSD when i come and I am going to have to organise a dogwalker when I get there for him to take him out during the day while I am at work.....

A spaniel would be your better choice.....

I really hope that rumour about the QAWS is not true... that will be so sad.....

Someone told me at work that the Humane Society is CLOSING and, worse, that all animals not adopted when they close will have to be euthanized. Does anyone know if that's true? I hope that someone got this information tragically wrong. But I definitely second Dohagirl's motion to check out the humane society first.

Gingerninja, why a border collie or spaniel? I ask because I am actually a border collie owner, and I opted to leave my BCs with family in the States rather than bring them here because I believe a BC would be absolutely miserable in Doha. They go crazy without massive amounts of exercise, and that is rather difficult to give them here due to the climate and the lack of dog facilities (agility clubs, off-leash dog parks, etc.)

What toungue lashing? I would hate to see them buy an incredibly expensive pure breed dog that will probably have massive amounts of problems, when they can go to QAWS and get a beautiful cheap dog or puppy and have their wonderful vet take care of it.
