I am moving from bangkok to doha in couple days and i love going out to fitness so just want to know if i can get good place for workout in doha and where pls kindly suggest.
And it does look amazing. However, I wonder what one is offered for the price of did you say 13k??
Looking at some of the treatments.. they all average about 400 to 600 QR. which seems to be another fee on top of use of the facilities.
Is there anything in Doha which offeres all the same services, personal trainer, and such, perhaps in less luxury surroundings.. but which is doable for the job at cheaper prices?
The 4 seasons was 14k, the Ritz was 13k (or vice versa)
One or the other had a 1 year waiting list.
When i took a look at the marriott, it was not the bad, nice, clean, turkish baths, jacuzis, saunas, small gym, outdoor pool, beach access, and basic spa needs, and the price of 8k (6k for women I believe) was very reasonable.
Yes indeed. Very beautiful of course, wish I could join, however I'm investing alot into my other business ventures at the moment so I can't afford to spend 20k just to go the gym and have a swim :P
No I don't have photos, but do go check it out..I've never seen anything like it... beautiful traditional Qatar designed rooms, which resembles the old souq- the rooms are endless with hot tubs, relaxation rooms, yoga, swimming pool etc.....it's stunning!!
I wish I was a member- begging the husband to join everyday..lol

@hummer, do you have any photos? Are you a member there. I'm so close to joining the Marriot (for the gym, sauna, turkish baths and beach) (8k) but if the Sixth Sense is better I might consider that.
If money is no factor the six sense spa in Al Sharq village is amazing...the gym is really cool...they have really groovy rooms for yoga and aerobics (all separate) and the machines are pristine!!...it's 9000 QR to join..
>>hummers keeps dreaming :(

on the duration of ur membership .. you can opt for 3 month/6month or yearly ones .. best advice would be to finalize ur location here .. as in where u stay and where ur office is etc and select one of the best options in the locality or nearest one there .. facilities in the hotels and clubs are all pretty much the same .. as in your main requirements would be fulfilled .. extras well u wud have to check that out ! :)

@hummers,
I got all excited but sadly that changed :P
Six Senses costs 17k per individual 20k per couple, and 23k per VIP membership.
Guess it's back to Marriott for me.

I personally prefer Sixth Senses because of the Arabic design.

Now is that luxury or what people??

Heres the link- think it's owned by the Ritz- hence the name

woops, here is the direct link.

Also, it's a seperate place, it's just owned by the Ritz but not in the Ritz.
I guess if it's 9k for you as a woman, it must be 11k for males. (I hope I'm wrong as it looks beautiful!!!!

Just did some searching, that's in the Ritz.
I called them 1 week ago, they said it was around 12-14k for a single male. (It's usually 2k cheaper for a woman at any of these places).
They also said that the waiting list is full (a year long or something!)
Maybe that was for another spa at the ritz?

Golds Gym is around 4000 a year
If you want a nice place with a beach and whatnot, you could join the Marriott for 6,000 a year (has a 2,000 registration fee which is paid once only)
@qatarisun, 95 a month isn't insane... I was a member of fitness first and payed around that.
The university I was in (essex) used to charge 60 dollars a month.
I think 60-100 is the average depending on the place in any country.

which is approximately US$90-95 a month which is absolutely insane... also poor selection of machines, not too many classes to chose from...
