Going to a mosque as an excuse from work
In a place where Islam is the common religion of many of our co-workers, you may notice at one time that we get several officemates who were not present at their desks put in the logbook 'destination: mosque prayer' or related to that...and, like, you get at least 3-4 times of log out in a day per person.
Not that I'm contradicting the religion or something, but sometimes I felt that these people takes advantage of their own practice as a means of 'getting out of the office' if they have little or no work at all, becoming a habit. I also find it a bit unfair that while many or some of us may not have work at one time but knows how to kill time and stick to their own desk and the rest of the people who 'log out' finds 'mosque praying' another means of time killing. (And they usually take long to return). I see some Muslim office workers just...find a closed room, bring a mat, and pray. Can we say reasons like 'it's their choice of praying' when they're both of the same religion? Can we also say that both of them have a different sense of faith?
Also, not that I wanna be racial or something...but there seems to be a common area in Asia that practices the 'mosque praying' habit and there's also another common area in Asia where Muslims practice the 'closed room praying'...
...and of course there's also a common area in Asia that doesn't practice both of them or their religion at all as because they were 'born near Mecca'. *winks*
Sir I would like to ask regarding salaha time in my company did not let to do my prey on duty I ask several times but they become mad on me I ask only 5 to 10 minutes but thy refuses
Well you seem to be annoyed with the fact that we are enjoying little breaks... with in 8 hours of hectic working schedule...arent you??
Why cant you just try to mind your own business and stop bothering tiny little brain of yours, in matters that dont need your..attention neither consideration...
Now from tomorrow, i politely ask you to put your Music OFF (your only way of uour entertainment at work)when its time for call for prayer or when you see anyone praying ALONE or in group...
heero it's no difference when you are infront of the computer, onboard PRETENDING to work.. at least they pray..
if i am not mistaken their prayer would only take like 6 mins then they go back to work, but if you will be online surfing the net for the whole 8 hrs as if you are working..then?..

Heero, where the heck do you work that you have to log in a log book everytime you go pee?

in our company we have to work 8 Hours.
if u want to pray or to have lunch break take as much as u want ( but it is not from the 8 hours which thay paying us for it............ for this evry one try to make it in short time to go home fast
this is nice way of managment......
but to mix the time between ur work hours and pray time or lunch break.........i think our company didnt pay us
for lunch break or pray break....... this type of stealing...........even if it is for pray.
Don`t Love me be my friend
to do congretational prayers (ladies exempted).
Prayer takes only few minutes, you are not allowed to spend reading Quran or any other related books during ur work hours. We should only pray obligatory prayers thats
only 4 UNITS if it is afternoon prayer (3pm). 8 units of Zuhr prayers (12 pm)
What bothers me is ppl come to office straight from bed. They have their breakfast at work, then lunch isnt that time wasting? Breakfast is imp part of life and we shuld treat ourselves lavishly at home. Cant imagine 5 days a week ppl just eat corn flakes and sandwiches.
Two meals at the cost of our employer doesnt that bother you Heero? how about enormous smoking brk, wife is sick brk, child is sick brk, immigration, traffic, see off at DIA, mother in law at airport?
Well said MD..
Practice what you beleive..
Preach what you practice.
Wopee..Got my 3001 points..Da not far behind you now..lol

nomerci, lol. Making the best out of it.
It's the same with the USA, heero: it's "the land of the brave and the free." But, how many "brave" Americans have you met? How many are "free"? The Red Indians surely not.
Indian muslims go to the mosque more often than the Qataris
I have nice time here, very relaxing. I can take 5 naps a day.:)

Qryx, Qatar says it is an Islamic country. There is alcohol sold worth around 40 million Riyals every month, there are laborers not getting salaries, although the Qur'an says "before the sweat on the forehead is dry, the worker shall receive his pay", there are few true Muslims here and many greedy and un-Muslim people. So fiction and fact, or what?
Thanks chum
some people must have such a tough time here...with that attitude.....
I think the poster should go to the Ministry of Islam and voice his complaints there....
then i will give him a lift to the airport....
;)
Prayer room is nice place to sleep too. :)
What comes around, goes around....
lol oryx, well said.
Did you not miss something when you arrived ????
Qatar is an ISLAMIC country...hence that is normal practice....
so you are in fact complaining about the practices of Islam in an Islamic country........
geezzzzzzzzzzzzz
what you going to complain about too many mosques next???
No supernurese, I think in this case its "love is la vie".
What comes around, goes around....
C'est la vie love....
I remember, in another country, they told me, people found red ,lacy underwear in prayer room.
What comes around, goes around....
this is a very sensitive topic to start with..It is a direct accusation on a Muslims intention on his duty to pray,as it is prescribed to all Muslims to pray 5 times a day, and doing that doesnt mean we just want an excuse from work, praying in the Mosque and in group is more rewarding than praying alone. My boss never complained about it,and yes ive heard some of my co-workers (non-muslim) complained about it,just like you. Why should we care? Please mind your own business,as your question is a total non sense; as you dont understand Islam.
Peace man!
This is very common question, we are listening since years.
All Multinational Organizations & almost all local firms have "Smoking rooms, refreshment rooms" where people go during working hours to refresh themselves, but nobody talks about it.......Then why the prayers for The Creator of Univers are objectionable.
just leave the Muslims alone will yah....so they pray many times a day, what is the big deal?...i dont see the logic of all these complaints...
.two words:
.total snot..........
.
there are two reasons why people can not mind their pown business.
first reason, they don't have the business.
second, they don't have the mind.
i am not MUSLIM.
but let it be. respect their habit, whether it may seem questionable (to you..)
It's only God who can judge them.
after all they are not affecting your individual productivity.
they are not at any point, by praying five times a day, standing in your way for you not to do or fulfill your daily tasks., right?
im sure your an expat.
I understand what your tryin to say, but also try to see things in a different perspective.
perhaps, you'll end up saying somethin about yourself instead about them.
stay happy.
if you are the "boss", watch them closely or else...mind your own "work"...;)
I don't have internet at work. I'm only stuck with my music on the computer. Not even games.

Heero..Some of your superiors complained to me, you are spenting too much time on QL in your office hours..mend your ways ..otherwise........
...almost everyone of us spend hours doing nothing at work in this place. I have as much as many work back home to make me busy, but in this place everything seems to slow down. Reasons like 'Standard Operating Procedure' and such other crap. And we blame the food for getting us fat.

lol MD.............
heero, how many times do you use the bathroom as an "excuse" to stay away from work?
Dear Heero,
Criticism seems to be the easiest thing in the world. Therefore, please be optimistic and adopt "Live and Let Live" approach so that we can share and discuss creative things instead.
I have nothing against you. Thanks for doin some research. Lately there has been enough of comments and critisizm on Islam. I am not adding details to anything.. You seem to be reacting just becoz i mentioned something about "Church" is that it?
Now i see how you all come to defend. Anyway i dont mean any bashing to anyone. When in Qatar follow the country rules and respect the Religion & Culture. Thats All.. What you dont like.. about the culture and religion i think people should keep it to yourself. I am upset.. maybe that is why I am reacting this way..
No offence.. to anyone..
cmon heero...just mind your own freakin' business...
that is what im talking about, i have chatted to one of my friend and being a curious person, i did a little bit of research through asking some not critical question though, but according to my friend, praying in Muslim religion is the most important thing that they needed to do. So now i understand why.
don't need to add any more details.
i just respect your religion
Why dont you log out and say Gone to Church?? Now that sounds even. Prayer in congregation is more rewarding than praying alone. People who run out of time normally pray in private. Yet for us Muslims 5 times of prayer is more important than anywork. If you dont like it its your problem, i see how much of time u have for QL.
For sure those to Lie and take an excuse in the name of prayer will answer for themselves, but i am sure you will not find anyone with who have logged out in the name of prayer in City Center or Lulu Hypermarket..
Enough of Critisizim on Islam & Muslims.. Find better topics to talk about !
their religion...
Is it any different to the workers who are desk bound, they may not go to the mosque but manage to spend endless time on QL or facebook.
what about the workers who have 'long business lunches".
The difference is how honest and dedicated people are to their work.
? don't forget the Eid holidays you enjoy ...
Stop complaining and get back to work otherwise i will raid your office once again to see if you are offering your prayers on QL ;-)
