hi everyone,

it looks like we found a live out nanny maid. we will hire her for 3 days a week, about 6 hours a shift. she lives close and can walk to our place.

what is a fair wage for this? i know what a fair hourly wage is when hiring someone for a few hours a week, but what is fair montly wage for 3 days a week, 6 hours a day?

i want to pay her a good wage - what would that be?

it is better if your nanny if reffered by a friend..

dont be greedy.. 600 more is not big.. if you give from your hear you will get more..

for me i think its reasonable.

Do it in this way..

If you hire a nanny/cleaner from an agency, get them with the cheapest wage as possible.

It is because if you pay 1800, i can guarantee that 1200 will go to the agency and she will be given 600 !!!

Believe me.. many ppl are working for this salary here.

So  if you can afford a nanny/cleaner for 1800 QR,  try to get one ( through an agency ) for some 1000  or 1200 QR.. you will get it for sure..

Give the rest 600 QR  to this person as bonus.

Anddd remember.. Dont let the company know this.

personally I would negotiate the cheapest salary for her as possible. But then give her a bonus to cover the rest. I guess it is because I distrust most people and therefore expect her agency to treat her badly.

I think these rates are well above the going rate. Many nanny/maids are happy to get 1500 for 6 DAYS a week, 6-10 hours per day. I'm not saying that's how it should be, but that seems to be how it is.

you have to pay by hour since its not regular.. coz usually if its monthly pay should be round 1300-1500 but since its 6 hours 3 times a week pay..

perhour pay will be = 25QAR coz taking care a baby has more responsibility than cleaning a house. so i think its resonable.. plus if you re paying good amount to your nanny you have the assurance that she will really look after and take care of your baby.

computation would be like this..

perday = 150

week = 450

month = 1800

too much aint it?.. but at least the assurance is there that the nanny will look after the baby, because she is motivated, to think that she is getting big box..

think about it..

that's kinda what i was thinking.  1200 for 3 days would be prorated to 2000 at 5 days.

i was thinking of starting there are if she ends up being good with the baby we can raise it.

9 days and counting...

QR 1200 to QR 1500 no more than that. For days a week 6 hrs a day it is very good wage
