"While merely having Hussein Damirji on board adds visibility to our office, the true value of his joining the firm is much greater - he is a highly-skilled business lawyer whose initiative-taking and vast international experience immediately enhances our ability as a firm to serve clients across the entire Middle East and North Africa region, as well as in the United States and United Kingdom," said Robert Hager, Managing Partner of Patton Boggs' Doha office.Mr. Damirji advises business clients on their most significant legal affairs, including banking and securities law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, employment law, insurance law, litigation, oil and gas law, and many other types of matters. His knowledge of business law is truly global - while he has spearheaded transactions throughout the world, he has also served as counsel to firms in Iraq, Jordan, the UK, Turkey, and the United States.  Most recently, he was founder and managing partner of a prominent Middle Eastern firm.  Under his leadership, the firm represented a diverse number of high-profile multi-national clients, and earned recognition for both its business work and its pro bono capabilities.Previously, Mr. Damirji handled corporate issues (specifically involving U.S. capital markets) while at the world's largest law firm.  He also worked at one of the leading global financial management and advisory companies as member of a legal team advising the equity capital markets group on all aspects of equity offerings.Mr. Damirji has appeared as an expert in several media outlets including CNN and Al Jazeera.  He is fluent in English, Arabic, French, and German, and earned his B.A. from Oxford University before graduating from Harvard Law School with an LL.M. degree.
