I think we all have this big retirement dream
House paid off...
Car's paid off..
No worries...
Well let me set you straight...
Something will always come up...
Health issues??? parents???
No matter how much you make...
So just do the best you can while your here...
And even you think the other guy has it made...
He has just as much worry as you...
So anyway just plan on working your whole life...
What the hell you got to do anyway???
This applies to all nationalites working here...
Were all in the same boat when we go home...
at this time...
whatever happened to the dream career/job?
No such thing as retirement any more..
House still to pay off
Kids at University
KIA needs new slicks
The list goes on and on..
At least QL doesn't cost anything :)
is to have a farm, a modest cottage house, have a pick-up truck and a yellow labrador.
We are here to save money but in a way that our health and happines will not be affected.
that money is not just all there is... but,
come to think about it
within this material world of us, any desires and goals worthy of achieving entails some cost.
if we desire for:
- higher education,
- good health,
- future security,
- hobbies and recreation,
- and many more...
even at this moment that we are typing a word or two,
it all entails costs.
our computers started from conceptualization and design, production, shipment, purchasing and more... all these stages entails costs..
even our internet connection entails costs.
our goals even become worthier as we grow old,
some of us will desire to do philantrophic acts
and still those desires entail costs...
so in relation to this threads topics, i personally deem it justified that we should make better use of our time as it is equated into costs...
this is how our life in this material world works, so why not just accept that fact and prepare ourselves to a better life when we retire.
a life that entails cost in every steps we will take...
and all that cost is non-realizable without money, isn't it?
my superannuation has copped a beating back home, i'll be working until the day i die :(
and i'd rather that be sooner rather than later.
I guess you cannot plan to work your whole life, as you already mention there may be health issues. And don't forget that the younger generation will overtake you anytime, they are filled with energy, innovative ideas and more technology savvy.
Moral : Money or earning all your life won't get you any satisfaction.
only your house is waiting for you
Except I have to pay insurance....
You can't teach experience...
You have your priorities all wrong.
I own very little and want very little. I am free to do whatever I wish and that freedom is worth all the houses and cars you can imagine. I don't have any worries
