I wonder...

Why Qatar has so many shops with sleeveless shirts, and dresses, even minis, if there is this comment, respect the dress culture of the Muslim country.....

Where to wear these clothes if we are not Muslim? I like fashion, like most, and a lot of the clothes i buy are just sleeveless, not showing cleavage, or my pants are 3/4 length fashion style jeans or capris. So whats the problem????
I wear them. Why have these stores if we are restricted to wearing them in home only? If that is the case, i will just wear pajamas and save money....oh well
People stare, why....oooh wow, cause my arms are un covered... I stare back....we all have arms.... my concern is........... what about all those QATARI ladies dressed in Abaya''s which are open 3/4? High heels, its just some buttons held to gather from they belly area, all the rest is open, tons of make-up & not even the heads being covered. I don't wear tons of make up.

Is this a sign that they seek the attention of another man while being with their men? Or when they are walking in the Mall with their friends to attract men.....
Hummmmm. Where to shop for shirts etc for non muslim girl, that doesn't wear low cut tees.... But fashionable?

We would all like to wander around in what we feel comfortable in. Trouble is that society has norms and is "comfortable" for me, may be an eyesore for you ..

eventually...qatar will become like Dubai. Qatar is growing n expanding now. To facilitate expats like us (euros, west, asians) more entertaining n more amusing places will be developed. Just like playing SIMS! To get the economy getting better, tourism sector should be enhanced. To get more ppl coming in n spending their money here just like in Dubai, they have to make this country as enjoyable as the could. But, maybe Qatar isn't as desperate as Dubai..in which owing Abu Dhabi lots of money n relying on tourism sector so they can pay teh loan.

flexi, Do you know about the blonde who shook her mother-in-law to death?

The cough syrup she was about to give her had a note on the bottle "shake well before use"!

Bravo KR! It is really simple but you know why did the blonde stare at the orange juice carton? It said "concentrate" on it!

@ Night Return: Thx for da CM n to me i got the answer for the question :)

By Knight Returns• 30 Oct 2012 17:59
Knight Returns

The answer is simple.. the kind of clothes you are talking about can be worn at home, in private parties or within the compounds. If ladies wearing such outfits wish to go out to public places, they are expected to don the Abaya over it.

For non-muslims or ladies who do not use the Abaya, are expected to refrain from wearing such garments in public.

Many women have told me that dressing and facial make up is not always to attract men...they do it for their pleasure as well. Most of us feel elated temporarily if we wear a new and nice suite..so I guess the feeling is the same amongst ladies.

I still say that everybody should wear clothes they feel comfortable in.

Can't understand what the fuss about who wears what is all about.

This type of dresses to just seduce thier husbands... Muslim women or any respectable women never come wearing these type of dresses in public places... If they wear they used to cover it.. and it is just to bring bit romance in daily marriage life...

Its not a strange post its question

..... i get stared at and i even hear comments, not about me, but others Who do dress un conservatively

when i am dressed much more conservatively then lets say other cultures.... I stare back and wonder..... Whats the problem....this is not Iran or Saudi. So no law.

but its funny, so i simply post why have these shops in a Muslim country if they create stares .....ha!!! People stare no matter what...human nature.

What are "mens"? and "owns" ?

By mr_qatar• 30 Oct 2012 16:29
mr_qatar

u r totally confused in so many things..

why shops have sleeveless shirts & skirts when we are not allowed to wear them?

why ppl stare at u when u they also have arms like u?

why Qatari girls put tons of make-up?

do they try to attract other mens when they are with their owns?

or they attract mens when they are with their firends...?

moral of ur thread is: rubbish + sh!t....

It's called being a hypocrite... get used to it. You'll see a lot of that here... rules are made to be broken. And 90% of the time you will never see a Qatari lady being questioned by the police regarding their clothes. Same as you will never see the police hand out fines to those retards stopping in the middle of the roundabouts to chat.
