indecorous attitude-Qatar Consulate, Dubai
would like to express my depression while inquiring to an indecent/ill-mannered guy by phone in Qatar consulate, Dubai. I was deeply mad on how they are taking inquiries indecently. We are same employed and the value of our job depends on the industry we are working. I do not care how busy and tight you are in your desk but please do your job in a way nicely and accordingly. We do get paid, tired, pissed off sometimes but hey, this is your job! If cannot handle then get lost from your job! The company hires you coz they believed you can manage the job even how tiring and hard it is. Yeah? And please.... don't ever hang-up the conversation nor disconnect it while the other line is still working. I am working in Dubai for almost 2 years now as the Admin. Sec. but never ever i've encountered this such unpleasant incident in my short stay. And never expected it would happen in a diplomatic institution. For those on the top-brass, look after your employees if they are worthy to be kept in your company. Remember, nothing is more imperative than to treat your clients with consideration and kind to remain viable in this globally competitive world. God will bless us.
I meant i got the same kind of response and attitude(as azeri got at the embassy) at the insurance company i called up last week to make a claim. 6 times they hung up w/o any help. Then i had to use some vocabulary (learned in the hostel :)) that i never dreamed i would need to use
well... the unfortunate thing is that it worked ;p
if thats what one needs to do here to get a help from the customer service line!

Go on then !
I can say the same for insurance companies too

The "High and Mighties" usually sit in the background playing bridge and sipping pink gin.
The phones are manned by local hires, who armed with the knowledge that they are working for an EMBASSY, thus obviously superior to mere mortals and immune to criticism, become little Hitlers to all and sundry.
at that embassy? Count yourself one of the lucky ones. No one ever answers the phone at the US embassy. I think they only accept phone calls on alternate wednesdays from 12:34 to 12:35 in months that end in e and when the moon is waxing.
The British Embassy staff are FAR too important to speak to lowly Brits on the phone, maybe working for an embassy makes you feel important and hate people.
