It can be done!

I just drove my husband to the airport for his flight from the US back to Doha. It was over 600 km round-trip and I saw NO accidents, NO wrecked cars, NO tailgating or flashing lights, NO one honked their horn and I observed NO violations of any traffic laws (with the exception of several cars doing 5 mph or so over the speed limit.) AND (eat your hearts out) I was on cruise control most of the way!

Me too!!

Drove from CA to AZ today. Had forgotten that driving can be a pleasure.

Definitely have to use cruise control though. After years of driving in Doha, you sort of forget about things like speed limits and law enforcement, lol.

Always lots of CHP and AHP on this particular hwy.

Sooo nice to just point it and go and not have to worry about what any other drivers are doing, because they're all doing what they're supposed to do!

Scarlett, have a safe trip. See you in a couple of months :-p

If you were driving here, we'd have to catch you on radar cause you drive too fast for normal cameras...

Understand about the issues with brothers and sisters of the same faith...There's morons in every religion and unfortunately THEY are the ones that are so publically vocal!!

July 16th. Y'know, I was going through some dead air on the way home where all I could get was "Christian" radio and I'm sitting there wondering WHY I'm a Christian. I have to keep reminding myself that I'm passionately in love with Jesus Christ and that it's OK to have issues with some of my brothers and sisters in the faith. Sigh. Know how ya feel, PM!

I had to stop myself several times from blowing past people I thought were going slow...only to look down and realize I was going WAY to fast!!

Safe, sound and smiling! Me and my avatar (Annie) who rides in the back. Oh, it's so green and beautiful here in the summer. But I miss all my "peeps" in Doha desperately!

My husband was driving with his mother near Seattle last weekend and she accused him of learning "reckless" behavior in Doha. (I think he might have been doing almost up to the speed limit.) Sorry we can't fly back together! I miss Doha ...

Been here almost a month now and no flashing light in my rear view mirror, no one able to squash flies on my bumper with their bumper, I can smile at others without being followed home...but I have to admit...I've fallen into the habit of changing lanes with no turn indicator as they do in Doha!!
