Is it just me?
This really cant be put under the problems or comments section, but QL doesnt have a whinning section either. Just would like to know if anyone else faces any problems with these stupid F'ed up Sony Dvd-R's?
Three Dvd's just wasted for no good reason, i've been copying dvd's since morning at 6x just to be on the safe side as sometimes these stupid dvd's cant be run on max. out of 8 dvd's that i did copy 3 just got spit out for no good reason. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr using Nero 9 and vista dont think thats the problem or is it? How come some dvd's write without any problems and some dont? Its a brand new pack!
i've had the same smoke, i guess we got some factory defects in some of those DVD-Rs

Adams apple i really dont think the write speed of a dvd depends on software, you could have the fastest dvd burner in the market but the actual dvd are like 8x at which they can be burnt and that too i've come to experience is still too much for them to handle so i burn them at 4x or 6x these are just random horse crap i'm talking i dont know anything about this :p

Maybe all the files that you want to copy are protected by the State..You have to talk first with the Secret Services...they know the password! Or try 1234, it works with my boss credit card PIN... ;)
Nero is good but gBurner..its takes just a few mins to write a DVD 4.7G..with Nero is takes a really long time.

So the answer is simple..
Switch to Imations, confuse the PC and switch back to Sony !
hehe perhaps they should just rename them to FONY dvd's :| CD-R's are thousand times better when it comes to burning reliability. Imagine you just have one last dvd remaining and your life depended on it..you'd be screwed royally.

i got a pack of 50 DVD-R from Sony.. half went to the garbage... they are horrible

I never used to have a problem with Sony, then they went funny on me. I swapped to Imation and after a while they went funny too. Back on Sony again and no problems so far.
I think it may be a batch problem.

I just opened this thread so i can SCREAM..silently :p as much as i HATE vista it came with my bloody laptop and i havent changed it to xp coz the drivers for some of the hardware is not available on the website for Xp :(
