Is it true?

Hey everyone I'm new in Qatar & in this site.. I read that members sometimes get together to meet up and get to know eachother is that true? That would be lovely especially since I'm new here and still don't know anyone! Can someone please tell me more?

I met my X online and it was the most romantic relationship I ever had so far. I read an article from the University of Rochester which mentions that the ratio of couples who meet online is up to about 1 in 4 and still on the rise but the best way to look for friendship and dating is through your friends and trusted colleagues.

If you are talking about meeting someone from QL, then you need to be a little extra careful as QL is not a dating or friend finding site but meeting in a public place for coffee/drink without asking them to give you a carlift is perfectly fine.

I think it's better for her to go out with a female companion for those who are new to the country.

it is becoming so exhilarating nowadays to find a person who says something positive. all the people in qatar seems to be afraid of eachother.

Negativity should be abandoned ... You are right.

So the whole point is.... either you go out and mingle or you dont...

Unfortunately for Maverick... Aichay wants to go out... and HGL was helping him...

So now giving information on how to mingle is also become a CRIME? And threatening to "expose"...lol

How Negative thinking... are some people on QL!?!

happygolucky, Just look at the way you have responded to Aichay's first post in QL as if you know her for long:-) desparation isn't it?

And who can forget how you behaved with the girls in the couch surfers' meet. Do I need to expose you here infront of all QLers?

Choose the group you want to join with rules and regulation before they can become member in the group. Its necessary to prevent any member's abusing others rights.

The Maverick...you aren't game for a good fight even...:) You are sooooooooo boring. Don't know what kind of guys came after you. Anyways, this is for you.... **Ignore mode switched on**

happygolucky, Just wanted to warn the original poster about guys here in general. Why are you getting so affected if you think you are not one of them? Or is it because you think someone is spoiling your game? Lol.

"They are all not perverts but all have intentions other than just friendship"...obviously either you were an easy pick from the way you posted or you did hit on the wrong group. You get the people as you yourself are and that is a universal law. And smart girl I know who you are pointing to from the very first time you responded so keep your smartness with you, you aren't smarter and that is why so many could attempt to get into your pants. There are so many other women members here whom I have met, who are smart and have no such complaints either being ambushed online or on groups. Behave properly and you will be handled the same, behave cheap and that is what you will get.

happygolucky, Just go by what your signature line says! But I know all guys are the same, some ask out on the first meet-up and some do the same after a couple of meets. They are all not perverts but all have intentions other than just friendship. And they make their intentions evident by showing desperation here being over enthusiastic to answer to posts by females. Guess who am I pointing at :-)

The Maverick...what you experienced is one to one and I know some such 'nice' people on QL myself. On a group it is diff thing though you can find perverts there too who join the group(s) just for that sake. However, it is still much safer IMO unless one itself wants to fall for (lots many females too join groups exactly for that reason...to hit someone or to be hit upon) but that doesn't make the entire groupies bad and for sure not someone who may just direct someone to groups specially when someone asked for it, as the OP. So far one is mature and can handle oneself, like you, whether alone or on a group (even if arranged online) or in real life how does it matter.

Peace out...:)

happygolucky, Some people tried sending flirtatious PMs after being nice to me here. But I guess I realised what they were up to when they sent to me their mobile nos.

Yes there are groups...check the group section in ql

Beware of guys who seem to be overly helpful in giving all information about socialising here in Qatarliving groups. All I can say they are just posing as nice guys here but waiting to get into your pants.

If what she says is true then I think that's great since I, too, am new to this place and would love to meet with people. Looking over the group section on this site looked discouraging since they are all separated.

Nothing wrong in meeting someone in person having met him/her online so far one knows the dangers and also knows how to take care of them. The world is more connected and bigger virtually now than it was a few years back. It has expanded horizons of getting to know people across countries and continents to such a huge extent that it is pleasantly mind boggling and I am loving it. There isnt any guarantee how a person actually is even if we meet him in person...we have read so many stories right here on QL of women/ men being cheated by people whom they met either at workplace or casually in real life and not online.

Sorry I don't meet anyone I meet online.

Once as a test I set up an account as a sexy girl on QL and the abuse, rude suggestions and misogyny I received was amazing.

Mast I think she should be wary of men she meets online but why atheists? They are normally more moral than those who hide behind religion. (And use it to justify sexual abuse)

Yes it is true...:) Look into 'groups' at the top of the page...click to know about them and then join the ones you feel would be to your liking. You can also know there, how active each of them are. Many are as good as dead.

If you love reading books and would like to share something and meet some cool guys and gals, you can also join the recently launched 'Book Club II'...it is not in the groups list but I can direct you to it if interested...:)
