KHARWA Bus Drivers

dlanororazal
By dlanororazal

It's becoming a daily feature... These KHARWA bus drivers are becoming more & more agressive giving the flipside definition to road courtesy. They tailgate, overtake blindly, speed away into roundabouts as if it's their private property, etc etc. These buses are now imminent "killers on wheels" & something has to be done! Well if I have my GLOCK21, I'd gladly come up there & pump a few hollow-points in their craniums...but of course, this is Doha. Oh well I'm sure someone out there is bound to teach them a lesson or two.

i was reading an article in Gulf-Times that said that women drivers have a very small ratio of accidents as compared to men. It is true that women drivers have very less accidents as compared to men. But has anyone thought that how many accidents happen due to the women drivers. Almost 80% i guess what do you guys think.

or just ban men and 100% crazy drivers will be off the road! safer roads!

I know a person working in Karwa,he was telling that before Drivers are allowed to start driving independently,Karwa management take all trainees on City tour to get familiarize with places.

Next time if any one get into such situation like where drive take you for a ride for not knowing the place, ask the driver to go back to Karwa office amy be to Industrial area main office or to AlGhanim main bus station and complain, the officers will take you free of cost back to your destination.

When Olympic comes to town it would be easy...

just ban the women & labourers from driving....50% of vehicles immediately come off the road ....ta-da...overnight solution.

imagine when the passenger of a karwa is also new to doha! this happened to us and we had to reach a particular shop in the souq area and didnt know our way. the taxi driver was equally new and even though we made the shopkeeper explain the address to him three times on the mobile , he was lost. after a dozen phone calls and and a meter reading of around 70 riyals we gave up and demanded to be dropped home!

I recently had the chance to travel by Karwa cab to Hamad Hospital. Finding a cab was easy. didn't take much time. I got in the cab and he asked me to fasten the seat belt which i promptly did. Then he asked me where would I like to go. I told him Hamad hospital. He paused for a second and them he asked where is it.

Next was my turn. I asked him for how long has he been in Qatar and he said two months and I am his sixth passenger since he started driving a cab.

So I had to guide him all the way to Hamad hospital but no complaints. At least I found one. and reached my destination. Getting there was easy leaving Hamad hospital was difficult and it took me one hour to find a can at the Hamad hospital.

The problem here is that everyone is in a rush. they landcruiser owners, the bus drivers everyone is trying to reach their destination in the minimum possible time as it is a matter of life and death. Go on the road and you will see everyone breaking traffic rules. The road have become smaller and the population has increased a lot. so what options do the people and the government has?

Think what would happen if the OLYMPICS are held in Qatar?

The traffic jams would become the norm. there won;t be any super petrol available. Think about it. Is Qatar ready to host the olympics. What about traffic? accomodation? food?

even in the Asian Games they had to pay people to go to the stadiums and watch games. the Schools were paids QR 10 per head to go to the games and free transport. ain;t that something?

I guess the KHARWA bus drivers have no choice but to be aggressive on the roads. If they sat and waited at a roundabout, or waited to change lanes, it would take 2 hrs to get to their destination. Yeah, I see land cruisers let these poor buggers in all the time (NOT)!!

The difference between the two is they don't enjoy driving the stupid buses but the 4x4 get their thrills pissing everyone off on the roads. Give them a break!

Me thinking the GLOCK21 should be aimed at the land cruiser! Now that’s something I would love to see :p

SL if you charge QR1 for each Karwa complaint you will become a millionaire very soon.

It is due to the old drivers leaving & new drivers replacing them is causing this situation. And why are these guys leaving? Due to the Bizzare company policy, recruitment, salary etc.

Its not strange to find a karwa driver who has been "trained" by the Co for 3 mths yet has not been on the road for a single day.

By anonymous• 6 Jun 2007 10:40

You are only calling General line of Karwa. But I have direct access to the Operations manager of Karwa and he is the in-charge of these stupid drivers. That is the big difference. really, I am not joking.

you are right to a certain extent!

The 7.62 short has a shorter main body, also the projectile is shorter to the standard NATO 7.62. Due to the rifling (grooved spirals in the weapons barrel) the projectile does indeed spin on its axis, however due to resistance from air/humidity etc the rear (heavier end) of the round starts to wobble, with a velocity of 600m per second this wobbling effect ends up tumbling the bullet end over end after approximatly 300 metres.

Balistics lessons free of charge.

Artillery is a different matter altogether as they are fired on differing trajectories with a far greater charge.

take the taxi number down and time of the incident, and ring Karwa ... they will ask your name, your contact number and the taxi's detail. My husband used to do that ... but now he said he given up ... Rang Karwa tooooo many time. Then Karwa would think that he have something against the company.

I guess if more of us doing the complaining via phone the taxi company will do something about it?

One can only hope? :-)

truth 321.....does it tumble trough....

To tumble end-to-end would be physically impossible comming out of the barrel of a gun.

I think it spins on its axix the moment the sulphur explods. And exits the barrel spinning. Its almost identical to all the artillery & firing weapons. To reach longer range targets the bullets' sulphur content has to be higher & therefore the bullets are longer.

A bullet is made of 2 parts - the projectile & sulphur (causing the explosion in the barrel for the bullet to travel. Only the projectile reaches the target while the sulpher canister which becomes empty after use is expelled as blank (in some guns manually).

Correct me I may be wrong somewhere.

I'm noticing more of the taxi drivers seem to lack any real road sense. I'm thinking it's because they've never driven such new and powerful cars before, so they think they're indestructible. Either that or they are just really, really stupid drivers. All in all they don't know how to drive and they don't know they're way around Doha and they always pretend they don't have any change. Otherwise they're just as good as the taxi drivers anywhere in the world.

there are several ranges here in Qatar, they are all run by the MOI (ministry of interior), I think you have to apply to them to get access to the ranges.

The nearest ones are by Losail International Circuit (my mecca) and another one up by the reformatory (on the road down to Abu Samra/KSA) the latter is used by the American SF team attached to the embassy (oops forgot they dont officialy exist here in country....sorry D boys)

gross?? thats just pure honesty.

To be honest a 9mm or .45 pistol is one of the less harmful weapons available, most of the weapons available can do far greater damage, the most readily available in this country/region is the infamous AK47 which fires a 7.62mm short round, it is intentionally designed to tumble through the air on its trajectory (i.e. it doesnt fly straight with the point facing forwards, it spins end over end) and the damage it can do is catastrophic to flesh/bone etc.

However, generally due to the tumbing principle it is about as accurate as playing darts blindfolded and drunk!

is a pistol, it fires 9mm parabellum rounds, makes a hole on entry the thickness of a pencil but the exit (if fired at close range) will make a hole roughly the size of a ping pong ball, that is after travelling round your body and bouncing round for a while off internal organs.
